Aug 17, 2001, 12:50am
Hello,

I was if someone can help me by telling my the C++ code for the AW
SDK to find the distance between two avatars. I know it has to to with
algebra and I think I get the math on how to do it, but I need an

You know OpenGL in what programming language? C++? Or what 3d engine do
you use?

AW Ear

Aug 12, 2001, 11:12pm
Dear Activeworlds community,
I have recently (8/11/01) programmed a text-to-speech program for
Activeworlds. The program reads to you the chat in AW. Download AW Ear
at http://ophosting.myip.org/awear/ Please email all suggestions,
problems, bugs, critisizm to dpierce481 at earthlink.net or telegram me in
AW. Also, if you're a town/world owner and would like to advertise AW
Ear, put a picture object at your GZ with the picture as

Thanks,

True. I guess I should be that up on the AW Ear website (Actually, I'll do it right now) Also people who have Windows 2000 should
have Microsoft Agent installed already since it comes with their operating system.

Actually, nevermind about the Windows 2000 thing. It seems that when you run AW Ear on Win2K that you get the character to popup put
all it says is "says". As of today, I'm still trying to figure out what causes this problem since I thought win2K users would have AW
Ear work best. I thought wrong...

AW Ear version 1.1 (bug fixes)

Aug 13, 2001, 3:28pm
Hi,
AW Ear version 1.1 is out. I fixed the enable/disable buttons. So
now when you click disable, the enable button becomes available again. I
also fixed how fast genie reads the chat. Before it was every second,
now it's every 500 milliseconds (half a second). Hopefully this should
solve the problem of the genie skipping some chat in crowded areas.

Oops! Forgot to post the URL to download AW Ear from.

Download AW Ear 1.1 from ophosting.myip.org/awear/index.htm :-)

I'm thinking of having AW Ear automatically convert capital letter words to
lowercase and have genie say it like that instead of genie actually spelling the
word out. What do you think?

Tyrell,

The part in Microsoft's Speech Control Panel where you go through
the wizard and speak words so it knows your voice is for the
speech-to-text engine. Not the other way around for the characters (At
least I think that's what you're talking about). :-)

[View Quote] > No, that's training the Speech engine. There is a dialog where you can enter words that aren't spoken properly by the TTS engine and change how they're said.

AW Ear beta testing

Aug 14, 2001, 4:37pm
Hi,

I'm currently working on AW Ear and I implemented voice commands.
Such as to get genie to popup and enable the chat reading, you'd speak
into your microphone "Genie" "Enable". I need people with mic's and who
got AW Ear version 1.1 working to help me test. And please remember it's
a beta and not everyone can test

Thanks,

I agree, Cybernome. Another problem people have been having with AW Ear is with
