Location of next reunion? (Community)
Location of next reunion? // Communityinternal affairsJul 15, 2001, 11:05pm
I am wondering the location of next year's reunion. Will it be on the east
coast since the last one was west coast? Any info is appreciated. Thanks. nornnyJul 15, 2001, 11:10pm
If I recall right, there are two smaller reunions going on this year. :)
There will be one in Portland, Oregon and another in Europe in Sweden, I think. As for an east coast reunion, looks like there isn't one planned yet. I can't blame AWCOM, they WANT to travel away from the east coast, they work in good ol Massachusetts all day anyways. Nornny [View Quote] internal affairsJul 16, 2001, 1:48am
I say they host it right outside my house. That way I won't have to go
anywhere. anduin lotharioJul 16, 2001, 2:37am
Well then, can I wonder? Considering the last reunion was in USA, can it be
run in Australia? Cause after all, that is the other side of the world... -- ==================== www.anduin-lothario.com www.uswf.net ==================== [View Quote] dzapJul 16, 2001, 8:59am

Do you have any information about the Swedish one? A name or a place, perhaps? Jonas aka dZap nornnyJul 16, 2001, 10:06am
You'll have to look on the ActiveWorlds newsletter we just got and look
under the reunion recap. :) At the bottom or somewhere in the article, it should have links to the Sweden reunion and the Portland reunion. :) Nornny [View Quote] alphabit phalphaJul 16, 2001, 10:23am
A long time ago in a chat room I used to frequent, they were talking about
having a reunion and one fellow stood up and offered his farm for a huge campout! I don't know where all they are offered, but I hear there are lodges that can be rented that can accomodate quite a few people. The expenses would only be transportation and food and input share for the lodge. Hehehehe....maybe we could make our own AW Survivor camp and the challenge would be being somewhere where there is no glitz and entertainment but that of all our virtual friends:) kahJul 16, 2001, 2:31pm
correction: Norway... but it's at our capitals most luxurious hotel, so the
price is kinda high... KAH [View Quote] mike zimmerJul 16, 2001, 4:52pm

Raleigh, NC, is not right on the coast... It is about 200 (?) miles from
it. There are nice hotels, and a nice big convention center (maybe a little too big... the Embassy Suites is in Cary, right near Raleigh, and they have party rooms and such. The company I work for (TogetherSoft Corp) just had quarterly team meetings there. Very nice place. Oh and did I mention its only about 30 miles from me? hehe ;-) -John "nornny" <Nornny1 at home.com> wrote in news:3b523f11$1 at server1.Activeworlds.com: > If I recall right, there are two smaller reunions going on this year. > :) There will be one in Portland, Oregon and another in Europe in > Sweden, I think. You know, if you have a few extra hundred dollars or so, why don't y'all
make your own reunion like the Norway and Portland reunioners? lol. With a bit of newsletter advertising and such, it could be pretty successful, and you can hold it where YOU want. ;) Doesn't take much, just some citizens, a hotel, and a very good itinerary. hehe.
