i have heard about this world and its so called age restriction...so i
decided to go in today becuase ive never been in there and dont know what
its about. So anyways....i hear the bot say for my age and i said why? then
i started reading the signs in the GZ. Theres alot of stuff about slaves
(???) and a LOT about ejecting poeple for doing certain things which is
crazy. It makes me think they dont want poeple coming in there world. Alls
they want to do is eject evry one. Then the bot said he would eject me if i
didnt say my age. I said 14 and it ejected me. Someone who has actualy
survived please tell me what this world is about and why the hell i cant get
in.

oh now i just went in Gorrealm and i told the bot i was 99 and it ejected
me. Anyways what does Gor mean? it abvuisly has to do with slaves and free
poeple and that free poeple are better then slaves.....and all that
crap....someone please xplain before i lose my mind

Gor Worlds are Medieval Role Play worlds based on a series of Books from a
few years ago. The rule are very harsh at times. The general gist if you
have Free men, masters and slaves...Free Men are just that..they have no
slave and arent a slave. The Master is the owner of a slave and a slave
music do anything the master requires...

At times Gor can be very sexual or explicit and the only way that they're
are allowed to coninue this is if they make sure that only people of the
right age come in..

if you are not 18....I suggest you stear clear...your not really missing but
anyway :o)

Actually, it's not based on medieval, it's based on a counter-earth opposite
of the sun, there are now 26 books in the series written by John Norman all
the way back from 1965, not just a few years ago...

Er, wrong.... Masters, Mistress and slaves:

Men dominate the planet of Gor, it is said there was once a war between men
and women on Gor, women lost and the Priest Kings, not wishing to destroy
them, made them beautiful, and for that they would always be subject as
slave to man. All free men are referred to as Master by a slave, free women
are referred to as Mistress by slaves.

Slaves to Goreans are beasts, animals in the books... But don't get me
wrong, as online, slaves voluntarily choose to be so, as online anyone can
simply log out and change names anytime they wish.

It's nearly always sexual, and the art of putting all the wording together
is fascinating to say the least.

No one is missing out, what I suggest is you read John Normans work before a
newbie starts hassling again, his newest release just got published a few
weeks ago, he is working on book 27.

Chances are you don't /really/ want to know, you were lucky most people
don't even get to read the world guidelines :0)

The nature of the Gor Worlds is most definitely adult, and there is a great
deal of controversy surrounding them and their suitability in a universe
where minors contribute a large proportion of the population.

As a result of this, the owners of Gorean worlds are particularly swift with
the eject button - often taking out innocent passers by. You were ejected
simply because you are under 18, I was ejected because I resented the
abrasive manner in which the PK addressed me when entering the world, I told
him so... :0) As a PK myself I understand we are primararily there to
assist visitors to our world, being verbally attacked before even reading
the world guidelines is not likely to promote understanding from outsiders.

After this incedent I did a bit of research and personally do not agree
with the Gorean way of life, but I cannot pass judgement on something I do
not fully understand. I know this can be a volatile subject and I suspect
this will not be the last post in this thread :0)

God, you are SUCH a typical teenager. Someone tells you to stay out and you
must meddle inside. And NOW you're wondering what Gor is about. :)) I'm sure
the rest of the community can tell you. But please, keep your comments to
yourself. :) We don't need another Gor thread (or are you curious as to what
destruction that will cause too?)

Not a matters of age, I heard about Gor in AW the first time, I did
not even hear the word before. It is not so very popular in germany. I
don't know where Brandon comes from but the same might apply to him.

well first of all no one told me to stay out. Ive heard the name mentioned
in the newsgroups once but other then that i had no idea about they way they
do things or what Gor meant. So you cant blame me for asking when i didnt
even know what it was in the first place.

Ah, finally someone who actually has something intelligent to say about this
subject. :) I fully agree with you, and I too do not think all parts of
the Gorean way of life are moral, at least the parts I understand. The rest
I cannot pass judgement on.

That is very interesting to hear. I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY
but traveled all over the place. Including some back roads in the deep
south where many white folk still practice some of the GOR stuff there
You have heard of KKK? KKK is real life of Active Worlds GOR.
But KKK does it to a race while AW's GOR's do it to people if their names
start in small letters for the most part. But the KKK i would like
to see shipped to the inside of a steal making plant and roasted all of
them real well. While the AW's GOR is all voluntary stuff. True it's
wierd stuff... But as long as you are WILLING to participate. Then
by all means.... What ever makes you happy... Go do it.

Are you somehow trying to relate Gorean's to KKK members, as in Ku Klux
Klan? If so, are you crazy? They're totally different.

Gor people don't discriminate people based on if people's screen names start
with uncapitalized letters. They don't even discriminate, really. They just
eject young users out of an adult world. And they practice domination
(sorta, not really, but I can't put a word on it) while the KKK practice
burning black people's home. No similarities, really. :))
