Apparently Fortunecities has decided to Xoom out all my pictures in
AW... I don't suppose anyone knows a free webspace provider that does
*not* do this? I tried Crosswinds, but they're so friggin unreliable.
Any help would be most appreciated.

The trick with crosswinds is to make a REALLY cheesy webpage and put links
to all your picture directories, saying it is like a picture gallery. That
is what I did after they wiped my crosswinds account. If you don't want to
do that, use Tripod. They are really reliable.

I haven't have problems with tripod yet, and it's real fast to get into the
file manager and upload.

Ack, don't even TRY those big namers, as they're just there PURELY for the
profit. (be honest though, EVERY webspace provider, free or not, is trying
to make money).
I use this EXTREMELY wonderful free hosting service called Spaceports,
http://www.spaceports.com. I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but
for actually building a website and then storing some pictures for AW, this
is perfect. :) Website wise, you can sign up for a cgi account, you get
unlimited space (but you have to request it at a 20mb per request), and you
can place their banners wherever you want on the site (within the top fold,
however) and you get paied 10 cents per click that your banners generate. I
love spaceports, and haven't had to jump from hosting service to hosting
service since. :)

You probably want a hosting service that will provide only storage though,
in which case, Spaceports prolly couldn't help unless you disguise it.

http://www.freewebspace.net/ has listed a lot of free providers,maybe it
will help you find the right one.

they do, they are a webspace provider. And there are quite a lot of people
doing so. If you know someone with a decent 24h inet access, try if he'd
want to host your stuff for you.

Banners suck. Fortunately I'm not bothered by them, as I use software to
block them.

I always found banners appealing and one of the better ways to make money.
Although, the problem with banners on free webspace providers are that the
banner positions can be fixed whereas with Spaceports, you can place them
pretty much anywhere within reason. :)

I use Geocities. It's slow, but it is very reliable. I haven't had any
problems just storing my files there.
