(kinda off topic, but not really) New Year's Predictions // CommunitynornnyDec 29, 2000, 1:41pm
Hi everyone, I'm putting together a feature on 2001 for awnews.com and I
could use the input of the community. Basically, this is your chance to spill your guts on such 2001 topics as, AW 3.1, the state of Activeworlds, etc. :) HAS to be aw related or else I'm not responsible for any flames and such that you recieve. :) In a nutshell, what is everyone thinking about what is going to happen with Activeworlds in 2001 for better or for worse? Thanks for your time, patience, and any input you can give. :) Happy New Years, Chinese and traditional! Nornny goober kingDec 29, 2000, 3:15pm
Ok, I'll shoot. Of course, what I predict will happen and what I *wish*
would happen are two totally different things. :P 1. AW 3.1's release will cause a slight increase in interest, but after about a month or so, will dwindle back down to almost nil. 2. The infection known as "Juno" will spread throughout the AW Universe, rendering the entire AW population even more stupid. 3. Organizations will rise and fall within the span of a month. 4. The community newsgroup will become moderated again, this time by an *actual* moderator! 5. COF will continue ignoring it's own customers in favor of trying to woo larger corporations into partnerships. Next target: AOL/Time/Warner 6. UTN will continue to gain prominence in the AW community, eventually taking over operation of AW ComReg! *cackle* Ok, so maybe that last one was wishful thinking. But hey, a guy can dream, right? :) [View Quote] -- Goober King Just call him "Nostradamus" rar1 at acsu.buffalo.edu berserkerDec 29, 2000, 6:45pm

If AW takes AOL on board, does that mean we will have to reconnect to AW
every 20 minutes? If it looks like AW is talking to AOL I'm going to start looking for an alternative program to AW. I will not download anything with AOL on it to my computer, since AOL is a virus in it self. I predict that, eep will have some kind of punctuation complaint by the end of the first week of 2001. I predict Imagine :) [View Quote] crazy glue ilDec 30, 2000, 12:52am

Here are my predictions for the New Year... :-p
-AW will experience downtime. AW and other AWCom public building worlds will be taken offline unexpectedly. Angry citizens will flock to AWGate and constantly ask "what happened to aw??!?!?!" -After that, I'm guessing about a week or two later, even more downtime for AW and various worlds... That's pretty much it...nothing too special. -- Syntax - syntax at earthcorp.com www.swcity.net -- berserkerDec 30, 2000, 5:35pm
syntax,
That was very funny,I was in the gate yesterday, and it seemed every 10 seconds the GK's were getting asked "why is AW down again?"....
