never mind SoBig, looks like they have found 19 of 20 main server that would
upgrade SoBig, and last one is "dead"

Well, ive never ever seen that sort of thing before...
I had always took physical strikes against hardware as the last resort after
all other forms of attack. looks like this required the servers to be taken
down, as I say I've never seen that before... like a time bomb with wires
you can literally unplug.

All computers that have Sobig virus will try to connect a server and upgrade
the Virus to next level, that nobody knows how is, last time it was , that
it start to give away your passwords and so on. So tonite or tomorrow the
virus have been programed to connected to the servers.
But as f-secure says, 19 of 20 Servers is been disable, but one they have
not got yet. and that is one to much.
But lucky it looks like that server is kinda "dead" at the moment

Wouldent be suprised if they used a tactical nuclear missile strike on it if
it was a server somewhere like Russia and not the US.

Uh................ No, not a nuclear weapon. We'd be removed from the UN,
there'd be a million embargos placed on us, etc. We'd be alone. Please use
your head, and not your (word that you'll whine to enzo about and have this
thread deleted if I post) next time.

I have a hunch on the MSBlast Worm, was made by Microsoft, or a payed guy to
program it, and actually get some payload over the effect. Even if they made
a virus that formatted your computer - payload.
Aug 23, 2003, 11:39pm
Yeah, especially if it formats your computer... because then you need to buy
windows again (if you have XP, a legal copy of XP that is).

Uh, only if there's a major hardware change when you install again from when
it was reformatted. But, even then you have six more activations. If you
go over that, you can call Microsoft, explain your situation, and get
another activation code. You don't need to buy windows XP again.

Or use the volume license addition or corperate ;)

*Sees this is an old thread..*

Umm... no, you can only install XP once per activation code per
installation, and I know from experience.
You can do the second thing you said though.

Call me silly, but ya'll confuse me. I've formatted my harddrive well over 6
times and loaded the same XP with the same code in each time without calling
Microsoft. So I'm totally confused.
No Comment Strike, you know I'm always confused. LoL
