Reflecting the way web pages and websites are made TODAY would
mean NO standard at all.

/> is XHTML actually (HTML's mentally challenged cousin). The space in
front of the slash is added for compatibility with older browsers. It's
valid HTML 4.01, and not an error.

I don't think you understand. HTML is defined by a standard. It's WRONG to
write HTML that doesn't respect the standard. You can make really cool and
great-looking pages while still being 100% standard-compliant. It's all
about skills, you see. Those people who make pages that only work in IE 5+
full of eyecandy are actually completely devoid of skill (except in
graphics).

Uh, no. All the table tricks I use validate fine (some can break NS 4.x
though, but that's not my problem). If you use HTML 4.01 and CSS 2, you can
get some really neat designs that will (should) work in all standard-
compliant browsers. (IE has a tendency to mess some things up, though, but
I did say standard-compliant).

If you think you have skills in HTML authoring, then learn how to use
tables right.

He meant the people on NS4.x should upgrade to NS7 ;-) BTW the latest
version of NS is 7.02 :-D

Because it's powered by the PostNuke CMS. It's generally very easy to
configure, but some things aren't in the config, and trying to enter the
code and make a hack is absolute hell.

There's no difference between the people who ran AW when the company that
owned it was called AWC and the people who run AW now, under the
companyname AWI. In a way, you could say that AWC was the outer shell of
AWI, and that AWI existed all along, inside AWC. What happened last year
was just that AWI "shedded" AWC.

Hi everyone:

[View Quote] Nevertheless, I don't think it's much of a secret that AlphaWorld is HARDLY
AWI's "Pride & Joy" world today like it was just a couple years ago. Having
said that, I fail to see why AWI doesn't allow tourists onto AW (even
without building rights). Hopefully the results of this poll will force
them to revisit the issue as I think AWI will soon find out that allowing
tourists back onto AW, but WITHOUT building rights, isn't as bad of an idea
as they might think it is now.

Just my opinion.... :-)
