Ok, I'm WAY excited, I watched The Two Towers last night (Lord of the Rings,
part II) and it was awesome! Has anyone else seen it? How did ya'll like it? J goober kingDec 19, 2002, 9:55pm
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of reading half of the book just
before I saw the movie, so it kinda ruined the experience for me since I kept thinking to myself "That didn't happen in the book..." I'll have to go back and see it a couple more times to wash the memory of the book away so I can properly enjoy it. :) Note to those who know the book: They changed it quite a bit in the movie, so if you're overly concerned with them staying *absolutely* true to the source material, you'll probably hate the movie... Did any of you see The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in it's cartoon
version? Worth the watch:) brantDec 20, 2002, 12:21am
Well, having been seven years since I read the books, I don't remember much
of them. Actually, I spent the day watching the extended DVD version of the Fellowship (yes, it was that long). The extended versions really bring out a lot of things for people like me who either haven't read the books or have forgotten them. -Brant [View Quote] brantDec 20, 2002, 12:23am
I remember playing the video game as well back in 1995 when it came out for
the Super NES - it was actually pretty good, but pathetic by today's standards.... Can't say I've seen the cartoons though :) [View Quote] goober kingDec 20, 2002, 1:47am
From what I heard, the cartoon version of LotR was just plain awful,
both in adaptation and in animation, which is why I've avoided it like the plague. The Hobbit, however, is a classic. :) Note: The guy who voiced Gollum in the Hobbit (not sure if he did LotR cartoon too) is the same guy who voices Gollum in the movies. He even does the movements for him! :D [View Quote] -- Goober King It looks tasty, it does... gooberking at utn.cjb.net stecloudDec 20, 2002, 6:48pm
I loved the movie - i have never really been able to get too far into the
book for various reasons. I think the farthest i got was to Chapter 9 - A Knife in the Dark...something like that. Seeing the movie lit a new fire under me - i found my Hobbit book and am reading that again, and afterwards i am trying on LotR again. I seriously reccomend everyone to go and see this movie, its fantastic. |
