Grand Opening of the Stuff-X eStore (General Discussion)
Grand Opening of the Stuff-X eStore // General Discussion
Sep 22, 2001, 1:21pm
Hello. Stuff-X has provided hosting for Active Worlds customers for over
two years now. I'm pleased to announce that we have expanded and have
launched our very own on-line store carrying computer hardware and
software products. The store contains literally hundreds of name brand
products at low prices, as well as many featured items and items with
money saving rebates. The store is located at
http://estore.stuff-x.com/. Thank you for your time.

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed today, Eep? This is the
"general.discussion" newsgroup, where off topic posts go. IMO, the post
I made was off topic, but not spam. I didn't post this in community,
worldbuilders, bots, or any other group. I figured it wouldn't bother
anyone here in general.discussion, but I was wrong. I will not post
anything else relating to the eStore here in the newsgroups. Please
forgive me (or filter me) oh Almighty Eep. Maybe I shouldn't have voted
to not have you banned in the newsgroups a few months back...

You continue posting here. Spamming is only spamming when you put this in

Uh, no, it's not. Spamming is ANYTHING off-topic involved to get people to waste their money or time on shit they don't give 2 shits and a piss about in the first place. Spam is unwanted babble by desperate people--PERIOD. This includes chain emails, virus alerts, and ADVERTISEMENTS OF ANY KIND! Advertising is spam, plain and simple.

Builderz got one of those "make-your-own-starter-stores" from vstore.com.
It's not special. Those prices are way too much. Goto pricewatch.com and
save a couple of grand.

Eh... You can't compare everything to price watch. :) It's not a retail
store that has to worry about balancing its debit and profit. It just
compiles a list of all the stores that do.

*stoops to Eep's level in an attempt to form an understanding*
Yo, diptwat, last I checked, Stuff-X IS AW-related, so it's very much on
topic. Get a fucking CLUE! How else do you expect him to get the word
out about his new site, which could very easily benefit AW citizens, eh
champ? Why don't you try THINKING once in a while, it just might get you
somewhere! God damn...
*stands up and dusts self off*
Yeesh, that was painful. At any rate, the services Builderz is
advertising could very well pertain to AW citizens. Now, if he had
posted about "10,000 Email Addresses for Only $50!" or "XXX FREE PORN
PICTURES", then perhaps you would have a case against spam. Just because
YOU may not care about what he's advertising, doesn't mean that others
won't. For everyone's sake, get your head out of your ass before you
wind up swallowing something...

Does that warrant an attack against Builderz though? Had you said
Pricewatch saves you more money, then that's different. But saying that
Builderz store is just a vstore clone and isn't special, then that's an
attack.

IA, did I ever say it wasn't a Vstore.com store? No. Vstore is certainly
better than signing up for a dozen or more affiliate sites and
plastering products on a Web page in random order and calling it a
store. Did I ever say that my store is better or cheaper than Price
Watch? No. Did I ever call the store "special?" No. Sure Price Watch,
Tiger Direct, and others have lower prices. IMO, however, the prices at
my store are *reasonable*. I never forced anyone to go visit or buy from
my store. I don't think the prices at my store are so high that you can
"save a couple of grand" over Price Watch. Maybe a couple of dollars
here and there, but nothing close to a few thousand. Instead of trying
to "attack" me and my store, why not try and give some constructive
criticism about it? Or why not even go the extra step and make your own
store that is better than mine?

Gee, you're not very good at following your own advice, are you? Let's
put that little snippit in context, shall we?
"Stuff-X has provided hosting for Active Worlds customers for over
two years now. I'm pleased to announce that we have expanded and have
launched our very own on-line store carrying computer hardware and
software products."
When you add that first sentence, the implication is that since Stuff-X
has been providing hosting for AW, those customers can also benefit from
Stuff-X's expansion. Therefore, those customers, who are AW citizens,
could be interested in this announcement, thereby, using your own logic,
making it NOT spam.
And don't even start with that "newbie" bullshit, Eep. I've been here
even longer than you have and it's always been plainly obvious to me
that all you're interested in is your own opinions and conclusions. I
have yet to see you actually renege on a statement you've made that has
been proven false. So much for "RESEARCH", putz.

As to HMTL Posts... There are 2 options I can think of off the top of my

1) You can filter me...
2) I get removed from being able to post to the NGs...
oh... Just thot' of a 3rd option... has to do with 'hell freezing over'...
Hmmm... is that a real option or just an external condition affecting my

Knowing full well that any post, by pretty well anyone, will likely be
considered off-topic if it doesn't mention (b)Eep's (out-dated) Web Site,
I'l mention this Util in the hope that it 'will' in fact upset (b)Eep for
hours...
Check out:
Software Design - MS Windows Error Messages
( http://www.gregorybraun.com/MSWinErr.html )
Could come in handy for (ActiveWorlds) Beta Testers or when the (Alpha
Browser) Beta goes public...
PS... I make no claim as to the Util's usefulness. It 'LOOKS' like it may be
something that 'could' be handy however... If it trashes your HD or screws
up whatever program you'r using, then... send complaints to

So much for "RESEARCH", putz.

to waste their money or time on shit they don't give 2 shits and a piss
about in the first place. Spam is unwanted babble by desperate
people--PERIOD. This includes chain emails, virus alerts, and ADVERTISEMENTS
OF ANY KIND! Advertising is spam, plain and simple.

Uh, so the FUCK what? That doesn't entitle people to SPAM this newsgroup. Spam is not wanted in ANY newsgroup--PERIOD! Most ISPs and email providers delete accounts because of it, too. Just giving Builderz a "friendly" ("you won't like me when I'm angry") warning...

Yes it is just a v-store clone. You can sign up for free and end up making
no money. What makes me want to buy anything from his store?
