Uhh, the WTC contained over 400 business's (large ones) and is the international center for
trade of money. Its possible the WHOLE world could have a recession over this, so I would take
his advice seriously.

Even if his source is misplaced, sure I'd take some stock in it...

And any such widespread call to take down servers based upon events
COMPLETELY unrelated to the secure operation of the software is UNFOUNDED in
any situation. NO major webspace providers have been destroyed, if any, and
I have heard NO reports of ANY Activeworlds related outages other than the
congestion total morons caused in the early minutes of the events.

The World Trade Center contained ONLY business that related to WORLD TRADE.
Not this new "dot com" frenzy that's going on. There are no ISP's based in
any of the WTC buildings. I know for a fact that fellow AW citizen, Xero,
had his dad's company based directly in the one of the towers. Fortunately,
no one was killed from his company.
Obviously, YP, you have no REAL idea what's going on here. You are way out
west, with your only "taste" of the situation has been on images from a TV
screen.

Yes, those of us within pissing distance of either accident site know even
less than the rest of the world thinks they know. It's absolutely hillarious
to see local news report straight facts and Dan Rather to be correcting
himself every third sentence.

"pissing distance"? lol I'm sure that's a typo. Anywho, yes it is pretty
funny to watch the news and it seems like every second they are being
corrected. It's always speculations at first.

is though.

From the past, the only really major event that has taken the United States
out of recession was a war. Just something to take a look at, that could
happen.

I don't see what good shutting down world servers would do, but it isn't
a bad idea to backup your object path if it isn't hosted on your
computer. I did find an interesting article regarding the future of
managed service providers (MSPs) at
http://techupdate.zdnet.com/techupdate/stories/main/0,14179,2810480,00.html.
