Movement Speed Throttle (Wishlist)
Movement Speed Throttle // Wishlist
Sep 4, 2004, 3:28am
I remember a long time ago, People were able to blast across the landscape
at immense rates of speed using Mouse Move in combination with holding Ctrl
and hovering. Why on earth was this removed? It was wonderful! It used to be
called maching. Now traveling in AW is just a teensy bit harder. It used to
be a 'glitch'. Would it be very hard for them to remove the fix? I'm sure
I'm not the only person who would appreciate the ability to mach again.
Also, a wonderful alternative would be some sort of Slider on the controls
bar that allows you to set your own movement rate, for advanced users who
know what they're doing. Or even just a box where you can enter a magnitude
for your movement rate--set it as high or low as you want! Sometimes,
holding Control just isn't enough. Is this really so much to ask?

how bout aw allows a new keystroke idk about a slider then we'd have allot
of tourist going 900 meters per second 0_0 *scared*, maybe they add
cntrl+space to make you jet...like almost a grappling hook, wherever your
pointing hit cntrl space plus arrow and wooosh hold it down and go a long
distance :)

O_O like a secondary turbo button! That'd actually do exactly what I'd be
looking for. Gosh, I wish I could just go into the AW exe and tweak it
myself (through a friend who is a programmer), but god forbid I make it
BETTER than it already is--oh LORD no! heheh ~_^

yes it seems we don't travel as fast. What did they change? I do remember
going faster like two years ago I think.

The walking speed was adjusted in version 3.4.

Yes it was; you could see the change when paintball in AW was quite still
alive and hanging. Some people backversioned just to play... the good o'l
days...

I wish the movement system post-3.4 could detect how fast you were moving
your mouse in mouse mode, so you can just move as fast as you want depending
on how fast your moved your mouse.
