how would you teleport, chat, telegram, ect? If you did a full screen 3D, it
would cut out about 50% of what you can do in AW...

they can make it like The Sims Online (screenshot example:
http://images.ea.com/eagames/official/tso/screenshots2/clsups/screen1_big.jp
g)
where you got a small control area at the bottom left-hand side of the
screen and it can be minimized to a little icon. and stuff like world list,
contacts, and telegrams can pop up to little windows (like on that screen
shot with those people dancing) when you click on a button in the control
area. and they can make the gestures accessable from the control area and
leave the toolbar with the buttons still on top.
no need to take up 50% of the screen by making the tabed area always
visible.

You know... before you accuse someone of ignoring you, perhaps you should consider the possibility that you may have been ignoring them. There are currently only 64 votes for that feature on the http://www.activeworlds.com/FeatureVote/ page. If you haven't already done so, perhaps add your vote. Personally, I'm hoping most for the scale command, of what's listed there, and there are several I would like to see even more... such as a tint command.
I don't mean to point you out personally, but there have been so many people making such comments when the exact thing they are claiming to have been ignored was far from actually being ignored, I just had to say something. I hope you don't take it personal.

I was thinking of something like this too. Instead, the chat windows and
all that would be something that you can either just hide when you want,
or adjust the opacity of it. So you could sort of see though the chat.
Just a thought

Shamus had mentioned the possibility of filling the entire Active Worlds window with the 3D viewport, and then placing the other elements (frames, toolbars, etc.) over the viewport. In the context it was presented, it was intended to solve vertain issues... but it would also work very well with what you just mentioned, if I'm not mistaken.
