Is there any way of making cache world info into a propdump file? Just
wondering.

ok *g

http://oct31.de/aw/undoc/awdat2dmp/

awdat2dmp is for those browsers that know tilt/roll,
awdat2dmp22 is for older ones.

Both can create old and new propdumps - and both are
command line tools, so make sure to have eaten some
garlic and wear a cross while you use them

You can do this with DOS commands.
To extract a propdump from a browser cache file, simply invoke the propdump
utility in the property cache folder for your world. Open an MS-DOS command
shell:
C:\WINDOWS>cd "c:\active worlds\cache\property\myworld"
C:\Active Worlds\cache\property\myworld>"c:\active worlds
server\utils\propdump" > propdump.txt
where "myworld" is the world you want to create the propdump of.
This info is in the AW help files
http://www.activeworlds.com/help/faq_world.html#q5

I really do WISH that this ability be fully stopped and removed.
It is a major security problem, here is why.
People can use this to copy worlds they should not have any rights what so
ever copying in the 1st place.
Once they have it copied they can use a bot change the object ownership and
rebuild it in another world claming it as there work when it reality they
stole it.
Evan if they don't have the same objects, they can still download or make
close copies of those objects.

This should not work as the database structures of the world
server contain one more field, the world ID. This world ID is
not needed by the browser as it has only one world/database
whereas the world server has multiple worlds in one database.

It worked with old world servers that could not run multiple
worlds. But the old propdump command will not work on newer
browser database files either as they will not recognize the
tilt and roll fields.

Hmmm... I wonder then if this is something that should be removed from the help files, or something that is planned to be changed. Anybody know for sure?

I tried it with the 3.3 world servers and it works.
The xelagot bot can also use the propdump that was created.
