This feature of hiding avatar names belongs into a
gaming software, not into a chat system. It's the
worst "improvement" in 3.2, compared to 2.2

You talking about how you can't see who it is until they say something?
Or how you can't see them or the name through an object?

The second one, I hate if when someone wants to show me
something and I cannot find her/him.
Same problem would be, if you have CT/ED somewhere and cannot
eject someone who hasn't talked yet, but should not be in a
world, you cannot eject through the chat window then.

You can always set your visibility all the way down to find someone then put
it back up again.

Yes, would be a good feature, but then paintball world owners would get mad
because it would ruin the game of paintball, because the more advanced
"pballers" are not afraid to have their name showing, and although they
don't care if it shows, they don't want people to be able to see them when
they are hiding.

Example:

I had the idea to make a HUGE maze as a paintball field, and if the name is
showing through objects, it would be bad if they could see your name through
walls because they'd be able to spot you no matter where you were.

That's why I say : make it switchable.
That would fit for both types of world then.

actually if you have EJECT then you CAN eject someone who hasnt talked, even
if they are hidden by an object.
1) EJECT == SIGHT, so you can see name in whisper list
2) right click on anybody and select EJECT
3) edit name of ejectee
4) click lookup IP addr
5) eject at will once ip addr has changed.

Here's another easy solution. Join the person who wants to show you
something.

Or it you're above ground, fly up some...the name should break through the
objects around them.
