There's been a lot said on this already,
but nobody has yet mentioned this particular language,
with its free compiler Euphoria
http://www.RapidEuphoria.com
It has a great many features for a freebie including
Euphoria to C translator and is less than 1Meg total download
Its easy to get started in and allows you to progress to more
complicated programs readily.
I use it to make small programs that create rwx object templates
eg making the faces for pumpkins
Hope you find it of some use.

Definitely an 8-bit CPU,
dont know which one off hand,
possibly one of the PIC series of micropressors
either way its not for writing bots in, let alone running on a PC

[View Quote]"ananas" <vha at oct31.de> wrote in message news:3BFDCD52.E3F638A2 at oct31.de...
Basically assembler can do everything, it is a direct
verbal version of machine language. you could even use
a 6502, Z80 or a microcontroller to create a bot, if
you can find out the protocols and implement TCP/IP.
|
This assembler didn't look like something you can run
on your PC, it could be from a 8-Bit CPU.
Leave your fingers from things like this if you want to
do anything in windoze, at least if you do not want to
invest half a year to create a "hello world" (for the
start).

As Joe said, it's been done and AW didn't like it,
It'll all down to writing a custom SDK.

It has been done, but AW didn't like it ;). There's no SDK methods to log a
bot in as a citizenship. So, sorry :(. You could play with VB and some
tools that would take control of aw and work like a bot :). But, without
the AW browser, you cant log in as a citizen. Sorry :(.

actually if you have EJECT then you CAN eject someone who hasnt talked, even
if they are hidden by an object.
1) EJECT == SIGHT, so you can see name in whisper list
2) right click on anybody and select EJECT
3) edit name of ejectee
4) click lookup IP addr
5) eject at will once ip addr has changed.

The second one, I hate if when someone wants to show me
something and I cannot find her/him.
Same problem would be, if you have CT/ED somewhere and cannot
eject someone who hasn't talked yet, but should not be in a
world, you cannot eject through the chat window then.

untill then we can make do with within the action rotate command
and specify a matched rotation speed and duration to get the same effect
the formula for th matched pair is on the AW help page
or if you have FTP rights, make custom versions of the object
by using combinations of rotate and translate in rwx,
especially easy if you make the whole of the original object a protoype
and do something like ......
modelbegin
protobegin obj
# code for original obj in here
protoend
clumpbegin
translate 0 half_obj_ht 0
rotate 1 0 0 90
protoinstance obj
clumpend
modelend
then you can easily adjust rotates to suit

That's how I understand what Data21 said, and he expressed

What you describe is not the rotation AROUND an axis but
the rotation OF an axis, a strange way to put it, and not
only confusing for Data21.

If we had z and x rotation in the properties box I could just rotate and be

because I cant add object action commands in a viewer
once in the world it needs rotate action commands to run right.
without them its stationary.
The rotate action command actuly rotates it to the time before it starts the
normal rotation.
I did finaly get it set right :-)
after you add the rotate commands it moves it to the VRT time then starts
the speed of the rotation.
Its how the clocks at the AWgate where made.
its one of them trial and error creations till you get it right.

KAH is quite correct, it's not upto AW to send out timesignals at crippling
intervals, far easier to send it once and have the client pc work from that.
Now if people do not have their pc's clock set to a suitably accurate
standard,
there are plenty of free progs that will do so, see tucows for instance,
then that
is not AW's responsibility. Also i'm sure that most people dont mind waiting
say 5 mins if you've agreed a VRT time to meet up at.

working on a fix to remove that from 2.2 wouldnt stop anybody from grabbing
objects
because those that want to do so most likely already have a goodly number of
builds of 2.2
eg the oft and easily patched, much maligned build 303
besides there are easier ways to bypass security and grab objects - nuff

Well it is actually simple enough to change the colour of the world icons.
The message recieved by the browser, that informs it of world status,
even though it is a full byte, currently is only used for open (Green) or

Isn't it amazing what a packet anaylser can tell you :-)

I had to call Activeworlds today over another issue regarding one of my
worlds. While I had Noelle on the phone I politely asked about whether
there would be a way that tourists would know what worlds they can visit.
She said their programmers are currently working on a feature that would
change the color of the dot next to the worlds on the world list that
tourists would know they were allowed on that particular world. Don't
know how long this is in coming though. I told Noelle that until AW got
their act together, I would save my money. I would be willing to pay
$60/year to allow tourists on one of my worlds if I thought it would in
someway save AW from losing potential citizens. Obviously we need to help
them save themselves *sigh* because they are of a mind set that tourists
will be jumping through hoops to put down their hard earned cash based on
their impressions of the Gate!? Pleesszzee
I am also of the opinion (and Lara and I have spoken of this, thus her
other posting) that allowing tourists on AWSchool could only be a move
for the better. I have written ENZO as well (not that I really expected a
reply )

since the X, Y, Z values in the "Create Rotate" command are specified in
revs per minute
then
1 /1440 = 0.0006944
10/1440 = 0.0069444
500/1440 = 0.3472222
so Create Rotate 0.3472222
would rotate the object (about the y-axis) 500 times in 1440 mins (24hrs)
Hope this helps

I need three rotates for somethign in my world and I am stumped.
One needs to rotate once in 1440 minutes.
One needs to rotate ten times in 1440 minutes.
And the last needs to rotate 500 times in 1440 minutes.

I know what I need but I am not able to figure the math out.
Anyone out there know the formula for it?

Did you say Bailey's ? Where's mine ?
I'd sit down and watch the six nations/ calcutta cup with that.
For those that dont know, that's Rugby, a similar game to American Football,
but without the namby pamby body armour

Perspective Projection Transformation Matrix
Is this some new AW feature ?
Whereby if you stare at a complex build it becomes an optical delusion and
disappears as a figament of your deranged imagination.
How about adding it to NG, maybe we can make certain posts/threads disappear
too
