I made some skunk sprites but they only look like skunks, so
AW needs smell support - I would think about 5 meters smelling
distance would be fine.

Wouldn't be all that difficult if the technology to synthesize scents
existed. Simply pop a container with these into one of your IDE bays or
USB ports or SCSI or somthin, and allow it to create the smells from
basic building blocks it's been supplied with at the factory (and since
they're microscopic it wouldn't be running out any time soon) and
release them into the air. Not far behind would be taste support, which
is just an issue of somehow fooling your brain into
bitter/sweet/salty/whatever because most of tasting is just the aroma of
what your tasting, with the exception of the few things your taste buds
can actually detect. Also, don't say "not in this century" cuz its only
the first year of it. We didn't even HAVE computers in 1900.Heck, we
didn't even have canned soda.

Century just started and there are already experiments, working
experiments!
Less than 10 years until you can actually buy it, I'm sure!

But not sure if anyone wants to have it if skunk.rwx does what the
name promises *lol

I have actually seen a webpage promoting this already, its pretty much done
right now... they just need to mass produce it now... I will look for the
URL...

For Roland and Wayne - starting the concepts :

Options needed :

- "allow local smells"
- "allow tourist smell"
- "set smell range to X meters"
- "download .sml files"
- "max. smell intensity"

and off course a new rights entry in the world settings

The Sequence format has to be enhanced to support that and
large objects might need a new tag as of the low range

I hope it will not need an implementation of DirectSmell
as I still use WinNT 4.0 and I bet MS will not support it
for this old OS
