Maybe AWLD will take more notice if we can agree a priority list of new
features for aw 3.0

Here's my simple list in approximate order:

1. Faster movement in world (from what i've seen aw3 will fix this)
2. Improved chat interface
3. An easy way to create the first build object anywhere
4. Better t-gram features (outgoing, folders, blocking ...)
5. All the others things i've always wanted but can't remember atm loL

Resolving conflicting lists won't be easy, voting perhaps?

Zedz,
there was an attempt about a year ago by a few citizens to create such a
voting list of the priorities... this list, however... didn't last too
long, I think... not really sure why...
maybe someone else can fill in the cracks... anyone up to it?

here's a slightly modified list from previous discussions in the last
millennium:

o clean separation of the whisper window and the public one
o ability to scroll back the chat window text without having new text pushing
it back
o ability to scroll back through one's own text, edit and resend it (mIRC
like)
o click on paste buffer for user name or text string (mIRC)
o extra paste buffers for preset text strings
o forward scroll freeze to allow search thru buffer
o font, italic, bold, colour capability
o options to switch features on/off

also:

o special key to switch between whisper and regular text (like you are in
regular text and you press the button and it moves the cursor to whisper, you
press it again and you go back to regular text)

Anyone who uses a track pad understands the love of shortcut keys :-)

Can't you just TAB to the whisper box and SHIFT-TAB back? This is a Windows
interface after all. (Or did they mess up when they built the window?)

last time I tried it didn't work, besides i kinda meant so that you could do it
instead of clicking anywhere (not just moving the cursor from chat to whisper,
moving control from 3-D and chat to whisper.) If that makes sense than I have
succeeded.

Yes TAB works, but it's too easy to use the wrong window! One way to improve it
would be to have a single window and use colour to indicate whether it's in public
or whisper mode, and a simple button (or key) to switch the mode. It would also
save screen space.

This topic should be posted only in the wishlist group and not here...The
beta group is normally used to post bug reports to Roland.

wups my mistake - i assumed it also covered the upcoming beta release of
rw3.

Please note readers to remove the cross post to beta from any further
replies on the wish list topic.

Does this mean that Version 2.2 of the browser is officially a beta
release :)

Well... It was but now this NG is basically for reporting problems with the
Release version of AW 2.2, until another version comes out, then it is
mainly for that beta version, etc.

Id like to see some diff stuff. I havent really read the docs yet tho

1. More advanced download queues/priorities (incl. background DLing of
common models when idle)
2. SHADOWING - This'll be done by DX
3. Models with moving parts

Sounds nice. Now, this is probably a stupid question but I'll ask
anyway... what's DX (in this context)?
