All languages that have the ability to load a DLL can
be used, that includes even stuff like Lotus Notes,
VBA (Excel/Word) and (with a wrapper class) Java.

Fortunately JavaScript cannot load DLLs.
QBasic is something I don't know either.

I think you might be able to incorporate DLL's into qbasic.. it's been so
long. I don't remember how but you can do it in basic so why not qbasic? :)
look for the syntax for that.

ok I'm looking here : http://www.qbasic.com/chapter4.txt and it does seem
you can include files into qbasic.. or open them rather.. there's a slight
chance if you investigate further you can do it.. but this may not be the
best way to do it qbasic isn't very visual :)

[View Quote] As bowen points out, QBasic is a very easy language to use and learn. An
added benefit: the compilers and much reference material are available
online for free. However, you probably want to start programming bots in the
well-documented C++ or VisualBasic SDKs, then come back and experiment on
writing bots in QBasic so that you can do bigger projects more easily. Or
not.

Yeah, Ananas and I were talking about it.. since qbasic is a dos program
(which might not run DLL files.. but it can run some sort of library file)
it would take a lot of time to work something out (you can run it in
windows) but it would be a very odd bot if anything.. I agree pick up VB or
Basic itself.. they'd probably get the job done faster and better.

you can use JavaScript with bots if you use Sado's BotTool (VB source was
released a while ago... http://bottool.sourceforge.net/)
there's a compiled version included.

I haven't read much about it, but I think the bot itself
is VB, it is just an OCX or VBX or something like that,
which can be controlled by JS. At least the JS version
I know cannot call load DLLs.

the execution of the JS is done with the MS Script Control, JS only has
acces to the SDK, does not load the SDK.
