nah its not gone, your just not on beta anymore, it happens to us :(

I haven't been in beta for eons, but I don't see it on my list now, even
after a refresh ... it should still be there, just not accessible unless
you've been added.

That didn't stop the beta NG from being there ... it's just gone. Just
because there's no beta doesn't have anything to do with the NG being
listed. I couldn't access it but it's been there up until a day or so ago

ok then they just changed how it' accessed....I've been out of Beta for a long time but was always able to at least SEE the group there now it actually has vanished.......and does not even show up in the list of NG on that server.

FYI I could always see when messages were posted to BETA and see it's "activity" or message count (just was not able to see any new headers/messages) but now it's just "gone" to me.....:( happened like LNH said in last couple days

In my experience they cloak it before the alpha and prelim beta teams all
start dumping secure information into it so thats probably why. I wouldent
think too much of it, its been done before, just a security consideration I
think.

You can always register to news://news.activeworlds.com/beta and if you do
it quick enough you can use a pending auth for one of the others (bots,
community etc) to let you see the post # in Beta (on IE at least). However,
without authorisation for it (based on citizen options) it will not be
returned to you when you request a list of all of the newsgroups.
It could be that something has forced clients to refresh their list of
newsgroups on the server and as a result it has dissapeared off everyones
lists, but its a new one to me.

random and come back swearing about crashes... Its a fairly good indicator,
