I changed an rwx file and named it the same as the old one. My frriend
deleted her folder for this world but the object still looks like the old
one to her. this happenes everytime I have her delete that folder in cashe.
She still sees the old objects. She has to dl everything again so i know she
deleted the right one but she doesnt see the changes made. could it be her
server has to catch up with the change? she did a search for another cashe
on her puter but there isnt any. she deleted that cashe in her recycle bin
too. anyone have any ideas why this happens to her? Thanx :) PS. dont flame
my punctuation and non use of caps. im not a typist and am too lazy to worry
about the correctness of it. lol

can be 2 answers on this, eighter she have 2 aw installations, or most
likley, her ISP use cache, so she see the same until her ISP does update the
cache.

She has to delete the OP folder in the cache... you can temporarily modify
the refresh rate in World Features which is typically 10800 (I think) to 0 -
which will force her to re-load all the objects on the OP (used in the
world) upon entry.
Hope this helps and there isn't too much useless junk :-)

Also, it's possible that she's installed aw in more than one place and is
simply deleting the wrong cache folder. I know I do that alot LOL. I've
gotten smart tho, I now have one folder for aw, and then install new
installs to their own subfolder. So I have ActiveWorlds/3.4/ or
ActiveWorlds/3.5/ or ActiveWorlds/3.6/ for instance. As long as you use just
one icon (or name each icon for it's own version) on your desktop then
you'll be getting on with the version you expect AND sure makes being in the
right cache alot easier!
But ya, go in to World Features under General and change *world refresh*
from 10080 to 0 and then have your friend leave and come back. She will be
forced to reload. Then you can change it back to 10080 after she returns and
is fully reloaded (and sees the new object). It's always best to rename an
object or texture to avoid this problem. :o}

Ah ok ... well then a forced world/op refresh is your answer, as previously
suggested. Let us know how it worked out!
