Unusual sighting // Community

When i say unusual, i dont mean something you dont see every day-i mean
something that some people may NEVER see (ie once in a lifetime)
last night at about 1:15am PST i was driving down the highway (facing
south, i believe) and i saw something really unusual in the sky
now i think it was a meteor or satellite, but whatever it was it was HUGE
at first it started as a small orange line/flare and i thought it was a
plane going down or a missle test. that assumption was quickly proved wrong
it then accellerated quickly and turned into a huge blue streak at an
angle towards the ground then changed back into an orange color while
fading out just above the horizon
i can almost absolutly dismiss the possibility of it being a satellite
simply because of how far it got through the atmosphere
i just wanted to know if anyone else saw this, and if anyone else knows
what it was
and most importantly-did anyone catch it on video :D

They told you to stop wearing your 3d special effects glasses while driving.

Ya think you're seeing UFOs!

It's always quite possible it was one of the new jets that skim on the
atmosphere. They have afterburners (would explain the blue/orange light),
and if it was a new new jet, all top secret test flights are usually done at
night. :P Where do you live heh?

the possibility of it being a weapon test is really slim. there are no
AFB's that do testing nearby, and the speed it was going pretty much
rules out any chance it was an aircraft, especially one at high
altitudes. ive seen some of the tests that are done at the base in
southern california, and those are not as high scale as what i saw. any
top secret test like this would have been more feasable during the day
because then it wouldnt have been so visible

A while back some Mexican Air Force pilots reported the exact same thing
over California.
Obviously someone else saw what you saw because it was on WSB Channel 2 News
in Atlanta. "California Natives Report -UFO- Sightings". It was on last
night on the Midnight News.
*wonders what it was*

You saw it at 1:15 AM. The news said someone saw something like that at
around 10 PM.
Probably tests. I dunno.

I believe you. The same, exact thing happened to me while driving home from
work 5 years ago. The couple of cars in front of me slowed down and so did
I. At the angle it was traveling I was sure it must've crashed somewhere in
a field nearby. I drove around the area but didn't see any flames or any
fire trucks. I watched the news faithfully for a couple of days afterwards
and read all the newspapers in the area. Nobody mentioned anything about it.
I told my family, my neighbors and my coworkers. Nobody heard anything about
it. I was sure it was some kind of meteorite. Weird that nothing was on the
news about it. I know I wasn't the only one who saw it. I know this reply
doesn't help you much, but you can be assured there might have been others
that saw the same thing you did. ;-"D
