This should make all of you happy that a suggestion Only to the committee
was accepted as a vote to cancel the Cy Award and lead to more interesting
things.
What I suggested to the executive committee should be held private within
the public until all agreed.
What i'm understanding is an email I sent to Mountain Myst, our
Liaison,,,that was only a suggestion with a detailed outline of what should
happen if an only if...and responses flowed in...
well the story tells itself....we tried.
I did work hard for you all and was an honor to do so. Cyberwitch worked
day and night. It is over.
Elect for the Executives you want. This is your choice. I suggested a vote
for the public be held.
This is your choice.
Elect your peer of your choice and please do let us know who is who.
I can't wait for y'all to take over.

Count how many really complained. I don't mean, how many post were
complaints but from how many people they came. Now see how many of
those few do not much else but complain here.

Should this really be a reason to drop an event that many others
are waiting for? Well, there was some chaos and confusion about the
new schemes. But it's a new scheme and allowed to have a few bugs
on the first attempt.

And some of the posts here have been constructive critics too, not
only nagging. This shows that the community IS interested in the
Cy's. No one would have posted anything otherwise.


Thanks to everyone who puts all this work into the event without
receiving monetary payment, I hope it will pay off with enjoyment
afterall :)

My question is WHY are there changes being made before the event? WHY is the
event not postponed to get back to basics of the rules? The RULES were ALL
CLEAR and ALL Posted last spring. The SELECTION Committee tallied the
nominations... and it was with the persons applying those nominations and not
complying with the 5 noms per category rule posted many months ago... The CY
AWARDS have a long tradition... all was posted clearly... WHAT is the problem
with following the RULES? WHY are they being changed to fit outcries? That is
absurd... DELAY is understandable and respectable... To change rules when
there are many who thought their votes counted weeks ago when posted on the web
is absurd! Do the honorable thing and either close down for now or delay till
proper selection tally and vote site is operational... Please don't throw this
around for a "hey what's your idea today" type of mayhem mockery. The CY's
have meant something to many and it would be a shame to see them drown in
chaos.

Ok, so everything went down the bog? I don't think anyone really wanted
that to happen, just a bit of a better organisation of the nominations
(clearing all the mess up and giving us only the ones that would be valid
for an award and that weren't erroneous in some way). Some people went a
bit nuts asking you to cancel, but I think they're just being silly, just
something like resetting the votes and giving us a final list of nominees
with their correct info. As I understood it, this was what you were doing
now, so why are you cancelling? I suggest you take a revote on that and
annulate your vote to cancel the event.
