Has any seen any documentation on how much these trial worlds are when they
expire? Are they simple p10 worlds?
Does the theme you choose stay intact if you purchase the world, or do they
wipe the slate clean?
Is there a God? And if so why did he create MIDI? Is MIDI truly the Devils
music?

(Looking for answer more towards the Trial world side)

Midi is the devil's music. When people say "wah wah boo hoo in 3.2 I can't
hear my midi!" I'm usualy like "good! midi should be banned!" ha.. then
again I've got an mp3 so big in my world that even eep bitched about its
size (I don't think 5megs is too big for a mp3.. not some 2meg american pop
song). With mp3 support.. midi should be gone.

5MB is way too big, it bogs up 56K users. :) So is 2MB. Really though...
MIDI is usually hardware based on the sound card, so depending on which card
you use, most of the time it's going to sound pretty cheesy.

Hey, I wouldn't mind your bloatware MP3 if they were disableable, but they're not for "local" (world object server) sounds et al--yet more inconsistent design by AWC.

I saw http://www.activeworlds.com/products/solserver.asp
when I was searching around the other day and from what I see it's $225 a
year because you can't get it without getting the hosting, too. However, I
might be looking at the wrong thing.

i wish they supported .mod .xm .it or the like.. music files similar to
midi's.. but the sounds is much better as you can pick ANY sound you want
for your instrument and that sound is saved into the file...

www.modplug.com has software for writing.. and has some samples..
