Customer Service/Support?

May 30, 2004, 3:46pm
You need to call them direct if you expect to get anywhere with them, and be
prepared to be on the phone at least 15 mins...or longer to resolve. You
have to be vigilant in getting through to someone, and not just be leaving a
message. Emails take too long for them to answer, and if you email on a
friday, it won't be seen until Monday or later in the week, if then.

You need to call between 9 am and 4 pm EST, they are in Massachusetts. I
have never had a problem getting to talk to someone directly calling during
these time. Mondays are exceptionally busy for them, but if you call on a
tues, weds, or thurs you should get through just fine.

AFantasy World's 2004 Building Contest & Halloween Party!!!!

Sep 10, 2004, 9:27pm
I did NOT Bar anyone... This user refused to go by any rules of the contest,
and expects me to change the set rules for the contest to benefit his
so-called LAG-BLINDNESS. I am sorry but the rules for the contest haven't
bothered anyone else who has already signed up, and this user withdrew on
his own, and is now trying to ruin the event.

AFantasy World's 2004 Building Contest & Halloween Party!!!!

Sep 10, 2004, 9:42pm
I think that Ferruccio will find fault regardless whether or not I change
the lag rule...of which I am not going to include that as part of the
judging. I will change the rule on the website tonight. But, lagging will
inevitibly ruin the contest anyway because if someone else has a build where
no one can move to get to view any surrounding contest builds, in the
vicinity, then it will also effect everyone around the lagging area. There
is nothing I can do about lagging when people want to use obviously highly
intensive textures, music, large files etc... builders need to pay attention
to those type of things when building in a community..

Update to AFantasy's 2004 Building Contest Rules

Sep 10, 2004, 9:49pm
In the consideration of fairness in the contest, I am taking off the rule
for Judging about Lagging... Its obvious there are alot of conflicting ideas
as to what is lagging, and what constitutes fairness in judging of lagging,
for example a good point made was how the judge would be able to know where
the lagging originated from, one persons build or anothers right next to it.
therefore I have made the decision to take off the lagging section of the
judges rules for the build. Thank you for bringing it up to me, as I want
nothing more than a fair and good event for everyone to enjoy and have fun
with. The website will be updated within the next 15-20 minutes, and on
the server reflecting the change.

Teens in Activeworlds

This is just a statement in general about certain TEENS in activeworlds.
They are not just immature, they are also very sore losers. To come into a
world just because they lost a contest, and were unhappy with the results
and then delete their build without even notifying the owner of the world is
a show of just how immature they are. In my opinion, children who are sore
sports and don't know how to act in the proper manner when they lose, cry
about cheating and world owner favoritism, shouldn't enter contests ever,
because until they are mature enough to accept the critisism of judging in
contests, they need to refrain from bothering world owners by entering
contests, then deleting their builds because they are sad little kids. GROW
UP, SPYDER!

Teens in Activeworlds

I won't be answering any of the messages that undoubtedly will be posted
here since bashing is always a problem in this newsgroup, but to clarify...
He was banned because of his and Joshs behavior after the contest, and the
accusations of cheating within the contest, and my picking the winners,
which just was not so. All the builds were judged by 5 different people. I
had no say into anything, and did not bother any of the builders, while they
were building nor did I look at all their builds until I put up the
teleports for the contest judging. I never once talked to a judge directly
to give my opinions. The contest was totally on the up and up, and people
really need to get the info about why he was banned from the world before
they make their judgements over me as the world owner. There were no valid
critisims given, just ranting and name calling... and not very nice name
calling by a few of Spyders friends, which was the reason all of them were
banned from the world the same night. Bashing other builders, and
critisizing everyone elses builds was out of line, and the name calling was
more than rude, it was profanity, I don't allow rude behavior and profanity
name calling of any builders or visitors in my world. That too was one of
the statements in the
rules, about not harassing anyone, of which these guys did just that because
he was not happy with his status in the winning by the judging. If he and
his friends can't act their age, there is no need for them to be continaully
harassing other builders, and trying to impose their beliefs of cheating on
everyone entering the world to look at all the builds. I had plenty of
complaints by users who were there just to see the builds during the
Halloween party, and these guys just interrupted everything, and insinuated
themselves and their opinions even on people who had nothing to do with
them. I have a list of complaints by users just visiting the worlds that
were having parties. If they had problems they could have telegrammed me,
and directed their unhappiness by acting like adults, instead of acting out
in public forums, and in the world itself. Teens always want adults to treat
them as adults, well I do when they act like adults. If they are going to
act like 12 year
old babies, then they will be treated as such, and not welcomed into my
world. I never kick anyone out of my world without valid reason!

Thank you all for your comments. Funny how it wasn't an issue when it was
Josh and the others personally critisizing me... just goes to show how
bashing works. Personal attacks? Nah. Stating fact is what it was. Besides
I critisized that he didn't let me know, since I have links on my website to
his site (not anymore since finding that he deleted the whole thing), and
signs at an empty build...(also not there anymore). I have no problem with
him deleting the build at all, it was nice...but I have plenty of other good
builds there too. I have no need to bother with the newsgroups until I have
been attacked, just like they did but without critisism. Also, in answer to
Spyders wanting to bug the judges... As you said, the thing is done and
overwith, and old news. The judges personally didn't want their names
divulged, due to the fact that "Some" entrants would need to critisize them
and bother them while they are online. The judges didn't need to be named,
and have a right to their privacy. The last thing they want or need is
another bashing session in newsgroups due to their votes in the contest, and
after the ruckus brought on by Spyder, Josh and his friends, they
reinterated that they did Not want their names given especially to the kids
in the contest for just the reason that Spyder mentioned. His wanting to bug
them and question them, and irritate them as well. They gave unbiased
opinions, and were theirs to give. Because one entrant is mad because his
build didn't win, is not a reason to harass and bother the judges, nor do
what he and his buddies did the night of the contest, including the bashing
that was put here in the ngs. I wrote Spyder numerous emails after the
contest, and none were answered. That is why I placed the comments here. I
know he reads these.
Now leave it alone, as you all say, its Old News! Over and done with, and I
am better off without people like that in my world.

If you read the message it was never said all teens. It said "Certain
Teens"
And you did attack me not only in the world itself throughout and after the
contest, but also other winners were abused by you and your comments. Its
also not my choice to not name the judges. This was their request
specifically because of what happened when you and your friends decided to
openly ruin the Halloween party and the announcements ceremony.

Thank you for openly admitting you went out of your way to ruin the party
and the announcements. There was nothing wrong with anyone's builds, and
your opinion is your opinion as to the winners builds. There was no rule
stating that they couldn't use any objects they wanted, and that included
Spyder. Chrystals build was exceptionally well done, inside and out, in fact
she had highest score for from all judges except one...and if you read the
rules of the judges, the builds were judged on 7 different items. Obviously
they didn't feel Spyders build was as good as others, which is their
opinion, and that is their choice as to be advertised so you could harass
them even further. All the judges were there at the contest in fact,
watching the announcements, and they also were adamant in not wanting people
like you harassing them after the fact. They made their choices, did their
votes, and I gave Spyder the scorings totals for all of the entrants after
the contest. Your helping him with the build was against the rules also.
And in the ngs you did make a point of stating you helped him. No one else
had other people helping them with their builds. He was lucky the contest
was over and done with before I found that little tidbit out, or his build
would have been disqualified before even having votes on it.

Beware that sometimes activeworlds has glitches with their system for
citizenships, because my husband last month when his citizenship was due for
renewal on one day, suddenly said he was extended for annual date on the
next day, then a week later, he had to renew again.
