<Displaying Communication.>
Greetings from the USS Glory! We have rescently discovered a civilization, named Scarabian Republic. According to Federation Doctrine, we observe cultures near Warp Technology discovery, and upon reaching Warp Technology establish a First Contact so that an outer space surprise does not occur. Rescently there has been an increased power signature coming from a large radio tower of a facility called Windeval Prison in SW City. The power required for it was so massive that a 'MADCorp' developed a prototype engine that is the early stages of a warp drive. Hence, we offer our greetings. The USS Glory has been deployed over neighboring seas to offer a chance for your culture to embrace our own. The ship itself represents the multi-purpose function of the United Federation of Planets. Onboard, the ship has full recreational, science, and medical facilities. In addition, standard weapons, control, and engineering systems are available for inspection. For a limited time, we are offering a 'buy one- get a dozen free' offer from our on ship Phaser armory. Feel free to stock up in the latest weaponry. Our medical facility is currently investigating irregular lifeforms know as 'Nimbusians' in the vicinity. They are very courious in design. We will have to abduct and prod a few for good measure. I am ordering the Communications Officer to send you transport coordinates now to visit our facility. <Receiving Attachment. Attachment Available- http://www.swcity.net/tport.php?aw_2645S_5530E .> As is normal, make sure all your medical records and shots are up to date before visiting. You will require a passport. We are an equal opportunity employer (Except for Bolians... they freak us out). Please come visit today! -Tauntaun (Ferruccio and myself did quite the team effort in making the ship. Take a look for yourself if you dare! Ohh... and 'Enterprise' is HORRIBLE. No true Trek fan can like that show.) Ferru and Taun's Hard Work CopiedMar 12, 2005, 12:44am
I talked to LtBrenton, and we went over the chatlogs and figured things out.
LtBrenton has removed the ship, and may attempt the creation of his own. We just both ask that you please don't take this error in judgement to permenantly damage his credibility. I am eagerly awaiting to see what LtBrenton is able to create on his own, with the motivation Ferr and myself helped to foster. Please note, if you do want to make a ship to be included in the 'fleet' or involves material directly from the USS Glory, please contact both Ferruccio and myself first and make sure we are both okay with it. -Taunt The Cy AwardsMar 12, 2005, 12:40am

-Taunt The Cys Can No Longer ExistMar 12, 2005, 11:41pm
I am very surprised to be ever hearing something like this. That the
CyAwards ever could belong to an individual. The CyAwards have always been about the 'CommunitY', and rightfully belong to the community. The community has always been the one to vote, to nominate, and to work to make the Cys possible. How can you so easily forget all the members of the Cy team that you have worked so hard to thank? However, I do agree the Cys can no longer exist. So far most of the responses seem to be wanting to keep the Cys up, want to for personnal gain, and the sense of what community is is very blurred. Community will always exist, but not necissarily in the way people want it to be. I know SWCity seems to be interested in creating a replacement for the Cys and quite frankly I find the idea revolting, as it would most definitly limit and deny the awards to be something for the entire community. From what I have seen, the only people that could replace AlphaBit Phalpha have left the community, with the exception of Elyk who is much to busy as is. If someone can clone Elyk, let me know... it would be much appreciated. In the truest essence, the Cy Awards represents the community, and it doesn't really matter if you win or lose, yet rather you become part of this force that has driven people to magnificant pieces of art and selflessness for so long. The heart of the community indeed lays within the CyAwards and what it represents. It doesn't belong to anyone, and should NEVER be associated with a single user or corperation. I feel shamed to ever hear the day when such association would be made. Or have the Cys I remember from the past died long ago? -Tauntaun Leaving AW SoonApr 11, 2005, 6:38am
Why is the "f" word a bad word? Why is the "s" word a bad word? Why is the
underworld word a bad word? They all refer to issues that parents deem are not something kids should be prevy to at their age of imcomprehension. The same goes for your word (a description of a buttocks). It's classic usage (like with the other offensive words listed) lays in references parents don't want referenced too... even though they it is seldom used for it's literal meaning. Now if you are considering every person who doesn't agree with your opinion on this issue as ignorant, I don't see what point you are making as you are purposely trying to isolate those you are trying to appeal to? -Taunt [View Quote] Leaving AW SoonApr 11, 2005, 11:40pm
You don't consider your word to be derived from a word with vulger meaning?
This is to say that you consider the slang version of the word to preclude the literal meaning? I find that highly unbelievable. From what I know, it is best to stay away from saying all questionable vulger language. Even if you don't consider it to be in your meaning. In science, you can sometimes get away from using the "f" word and whatnot if it is in the correct literal context. However you are admitting that you aren't even using the conjugated word in the context it should be used. You have admitted that you are not using it to the dictionary definition. So why are you even using the word at all? In accordance to what you are saying, it is slang, and therefore not a proper form on the English language. You failed to address my second concern too, which I find interesting. Who are you trying to talk to with your arguments? What is your purpose and point? Are you purposely trying to disrespect a majority of the people out there by calling them names and furthermore disrespecting their decisions? People have said they are offended by the word. How do you hope to argue such a thing? And supposing you do somehow find such a way... how do you hope to argue without disrespecting their opinion (and hence destroying any change you have)? I don't see any point in your continued discussion here, as you seem intent at upsetting people. -Taunt [View Quote] Happy Birthday!Jun 28, 2005, 5:50am
Happy birthday to you... happy birthday to you... happy birthday ALPHAWORLD!
Yes... 10 years ago on this date was when things began for the little program Alphaworld, that eventually became Activeworlds. According to Mauz' history page, June 28th was the day things started for the public. This has been the date that the AW Community has been using for past celebrations. With Festival and Reunion still a month away, we are planning a little get together tonight at 12 AM VRT (7 PM PST) at... where else but the AW GZ! Bring your old... err... vintage... era Cy avatar and share your history with the world, the program, the experience... whatever comes to mind! The key to the history of AW are the experiences of the people who fill it! -Taunt Happy Birthday!Jun 28, 2005, 3:04pm
Well... myself and several AWCC community leaders came together a few months
ago to start planning. It was eventually decided just to do it with the reunion coming up, as that was what AWHS was hard at work on (And AWHS is the primary group you want for any historic landmark). With that decided, it sorta went unnoticed as to the real date. However, that date is today and we might as well do something ;) (In addition to all the bigger events coming up) -Taunt [View Quote] Re: Happy Birthday!Jun 29, 2005, 1:46am
Thanks to everyone who showed up! We had a great turnout and a great look
