scaling

Jul 24, 1999, 6:11pm
Being able to scale an object's width, length and heigth inside AW.
Should include negative values to mirror the object. Should also
multiply the uv-values. Perhaps add a maximum value so we don't get
really, really huge objects.

Web Cam Contest

We should have bots acting like Webcams for virtual places. That way you
could have a webcam for your virtual house instead for your real

lines

It would be greate to have better controll over lines, like the ones you
get from geometrysampling wireframe. This is one way:

line V1 V2

or perhaps even

line n V1 V2 V3 Vn

also being able to set the width (# of pixels)

I wish worldowners could decide where people enter their world.

joint rotation for avatars

What about letting people rotate the joints of their avatar inside AW...so
you could, ie, manually sit your avatar down.

Setting a default midi under world features. Of course, the midi should
loop.

two paths; one for aw2 and one for aw3

Dec 13, 2000, 4:53am
It's difficult to create objects that looks really good on both versions. Or to put it another way; cool objects on 3.0 (with prelights etc) looks like crap on 2.2. The solution could be to specify one models folder for each version, or even two entire objectpats...or we could just ignore the 2.2 users (my vote)

of course, thanks

direct controll over the rwx script when modeling/building private

Dec 16, 2000, 1:42pm
In the "in world modeling" spirit of eep, if we could get direct controll over the script (like in the web window), it would be a lot easier to experiment with prelight, surface, free rotate etc...anyway I'm not sure if this is the way to go but I think modeling/building should be where the resources are put after 3.1 is finished.

what the hell happened to all the messages in "beta"??

Dec 15, 2000, 1:53pm
Does anyone know the motivation for closing the beta test in the first place? Just the fact that they're saying: you deserve to beta test and you don't, I think, is really bad for the community. If the chosen beta testers have any guts at all they should withdraw. I doubt they'll do it tho'.

Dec 15, 2000, 7:33pm
I just want to beta test that's all, and I don't think I'm the only one. And by not leting us do it I think they are holding back valueable resources.

[View Quote] > Why? If the beta is public, the people that download it are mostly not going to submit bug reports at all... They download it so they can use it. The point of releasing a beta is to make sure it works before unleashing your creations on the world. It's not "who deserves to and who doesn't", it's "who can help us find bugs?".

Dec 15, 2000, 8:15pm
ah they haven't chosen the tester yet...just figured since I couldn't read the beta...oh never mind.

[View Quote] > No, they're not holding back anything. Anyway, how do you know you WON'T be a part of the beta? It will be a public beta eventually... Again, the point of a closed beta test is to get people that know what and why they are doing. This has the added advantage of keeping fools out of the beta test for a little while as people who are actually testing do some work. <sarcasm> Maybe there won't be so many idiotic posts asking why their '84 computer won't run Activeworlds... </sarcasm>
