I found another large treasure trove of 3d models, textures etc. Download them at http://www.outerworlds.com/downloads/junkyard/

Do not let the title junkyard fool you, this is some nice 3d objects, models etc., and a large collection of them. Have fun.

Well... Since I could not get to the Thursday meeting tonight because it would not let me log in, I decided to do something constructive and finish my mossy rock texture. two days of effort and here they are.

Just remember... anything I share is free to use however you like, but don't go selling the objects or textures.. you can give them away though. And you can sell rendered images you made with them too. :D

I found these worked equally well in Model space and work space - DX9 material and V-ray!

Sorry u couldn't make it Kena... but I'm going to organize with Tom to post the slide show presentation with the conversations or slide show descriptions in the forums for everybody to see...

In the mean time, thanks for sharing the textures, they look GREAT and I'm always on the lookout for special, decent textures. Gonna open a special "Kena" folder just for these textures and future ones :)

Are u selling textures? They sure are high enough quality!

No, I don't sell them.. I just started making them last week! I'm glad you like them though. That means a lot. I feel that TS just needs lots more textures than it has and If I can boost it into the hundreds along with anyone else that has some saved, then it's a good thing.

The second... only slight difference in texture detail, looks more gritty... :)

RayMan was kind enough to convert some files for me.

For brevity on the forums, they are located in THIS THREAD (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?p=58261#post58261)

In a few minutes, I will post some more materials as well... I've been working on some rusty metal and think I hae a good one and one that looks like it belongs in a sulfur atmosphere.

Here is a good place to get more textures for free... Don't know if they are seamless or not, but I'm sure that if they aren't then many of them could be made seamless.

always glad when someone likes my efforts :D

I will keep making these, and I think I will zip up about 25 or so texture files so people can use them in workspace, and I will also give up my Model side lightworks file.
Stay tuned!

Well... Her are 6 wood textures for v-ray. I zipped the whole folder up, so you can just add it to your library. I will get the same for the other renderers I have but someone in the WIP looked like he may need some wood textures, so here they are. I included the bump maps - normal maps and jpg's if you want to build your own.

You can get a free 3d program and a character, and some 3d objects at www.daz3d.com

Download and install according to directions. It will not have any content installed after you do this, so you can not do anything yet.

Then go back to www.daz3d.com and check what programs you can download. Download the content to your content folder within the daz studio folder.

Then click on the file to install the content. Restart your computer and the program should now be usable. If you have installed daz studio before and had a problem. then go to your common files directory, and delete the daz folder there. Then go to control panel and uninstall daz studio.

Then re-install according to the above directions.

You have to agree to tell two persons about daz studio to get the program for free.

Get several hundred free textures here. http://www.pacranch.com/vrmlresources/indextextures.html

They are called vrml textures, but they are just jpeg images you can use for any truespace scene or object. Nice wood and stone/concrete textures too. The site is copyrighted, but they put the site up so you can download free textures.

More free textures at http://x79.net/vrml/hg/textures/

Also try here. http://x79.net/vrml/hg/textures/maps/

That is not enough textures for you? Well get another 5740 of them here. http://www.grsites.com/textures/

And some more here. http://www.htmlcenter.eu/tutorials/printtutorial.cfm?id=99&type=php

Even more at http://tecfa.unige.ch/vrml/textures/srcbook/

Here is a lamp I made in 2000 with TS 3.

The design is based on one I saw in a stained glass magazine.

I used TS 3 for modeling and rendering, Paint Shop Pro for drawing the lampshade texture, TurboCAD for drawing the scroll work around the edge. These pictures are from TS 5. I have 7.51 but I haven't learned to use it yet.

The zip file contains a TS 5 .cob, the lampshade .tga texture, and the example picture. Use the .tga for both color and transparency. It is a group composed of many objects and is fairly high poly.

You are welcome to use the object and the texture for personal or commercial use. I'd appreciate credit if used commercially (just note "Created by Finis B. Miller").

Thanks to Prodigy for starting this thread and to everyone who posts free stuff here.

These objects are from my 2003 Christmas picture http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?p=21546#post21546. I modified the clock to have numbers.

They are TS 5 objects. The zip file contains the .cob files and notes about lighting for candles.

Edit: I have found some streaks and spots of light which I think come from holes or missing faces. Render with triangulation on fixes that.
