I wonder where I should properly post this, as it could be a worldbuilder or
community discussion, BUT since what I'm asking for is not really related to
world-building and that Gor is talked about so much there that I'm afraid
I'm going to be skiffed alive if I start one more thread on Gor, I decided
to post here.
Note, this is not my opinion on Gor, so don't worry. I have too little
information to make any remarks on Gor. That's why I want to ask you guys,
the community to fill me up with everything you know and hold on Gor worlds.
I only know that Gor worlds are worlds that hold some "explicit" pics, but
it isn't meant for that reason, I am told. And I doubt the people in AW that
don't frequently visit the newsgroup know as much as I do, honestly. So,
with my affiliation with awnews.com, I thought it'd be a great feature to
write. :)
If you guys have the time, please send me your opinions and facts on what
you think of the worlds. I've looked at the debates started in
worldbuilders, but they got off track extremely quickly, and I've entered a
Gor world, but it didn't hold quite the information I wanted. So help me out
if you'd be so kind, refer me to certain places, people, send me your
opinions, quotes, whatever. :) I truly want to know more. :) Thanks bunches!

It would be best if you didn't write an article on GOR at all. A better article
to write would be one about leaving privately owned worlds alone to be as the
person who paid for them wanted them to be. People who have problems with worlds
would be best to just avoid what they do not like. Censorship and bashing is not
a good thing at all.

AWCOm just advertised a D+D world in their most recent newsletter. It would
amount to nothing less than discrimination to promote one role playing world
while bashing or banning others.

I am not a GOR person myself but I do care very much about people's right to
expression and choice. AW has accepted money for a long time from the GOR world
owners. These worlds have had hundreds and thousands of hours of hard work put
into them. It is a shame that people are so bored that they have to waste the
time to criticize and bash other people.

If you really wanted to do an article, why not do one on how Yahoo and AOL found
in court why they would be best off leaving newsgroups and chats alone. The
courts ruled that if they monitored and refused certain things, then they in
fact, took full responsibility and liability for what they did allow. That is
one huge liability for a public corporation to take. AW stock has been falling
rapidly and will soon be in very serious trouble, it needs help, not hindrance.

Umm... he didn't say anything about writing an article bashing Gor. All
he wants to do is write an informative, completely objective article
about what Gor is. How is that censorship? *boggle*

And if these people truly wanted their worlds to be private, they
wouldn't make them publicly accessible, now would they?

You can submit your own articles for the newsletter, I don't think they sought them out for that article. :)

I never planned to bash Gor, but I realize writing an article on them would
bring much more uneeded attention to them. So, I'm going one step back and
writing the feature on what private worlds are (by definition) and what
"rights" they have to show in AW according the agreement. :) Then, maybe we
can go two steps forward. Keep sending opinions though, I can't so this
feature without your opinions, I tend to go one-sided. :P
