Or... you could just get yourself a copy of Norton.

LOL.. Gotta love all these 'super free AV products'....

All you need normally is Norton AV (Pro better), and Norton Personal
Firewall (Pro better)... or personally, I use Norton and Sygate (Very good
quality firewall)

What about "just be careful" ?

I do not run any background virus scanner but still
caught each virus before it became active. I scan
"on demand", just suspicious files. Needs way less
CPU power and does not make the users sleepy and
careless.

I think, information is way better than a security
that can never be 100% anyway.

Best protection is the grey matter in your head :) But always good having
something watching your back just for those really difficult b at 5t4rd5 that
are very sneaky :)

Hi everyone:

[View Quote] Given the IQ of much of today's society, this is often easier said than
done....

I run the AV program from http://www.grisoft.com/ It's an *excellent*
little program that scans my email and newsgroups posts (both incoming and
outgoing) for viruses and other little things which shouldn't be there and
(ususally) does a very good job. I have it set where it automatically
updates itself and it does a daily overnight scan of my computer at an hour
in which I'm most likely to either be asleep or headed to bed. :-)

It's also quick at notifying me if I've somehow downloaded a virus (I don't
even need to open it for my AV program to kick in) or a trojan in my email
and tells me how to get rid of it. It takes about a half hour to scan my
whole system, but it gets the job done. :-)

This program has bailed me out more than once. CHECK IT OUT.

Well.....Between the NGs, the various AW-related websites, and the VR TV
networks, there really shouldn't be *any* excuse why people shouldn't be
aware of what's going on in the AW Universe, whether the news is good or bad
IMO...

Just my $.02 worth...

Cheers for now :-)
