do versions like of AW 2.2 still work? Just wondering.

Yea, they'll work, but you won't be able to see/use newer features, like
move, rotate, lights, etc. Plus, actually finding them to download might
prove difficult...

2.2 and 3.0 will continue to work, but not forever. If you are still having
