Why no play lists? (Wishlist)
Why no play lists? // Wishlistr i c h a r dJul 7, 2004, 2:10pm
Well weve managed to setup a live streaming TV station, simular to the ones
currently around with rotating images how ever, AW isnt able to support play lists. Why is this and is there a reason it was not supported? It would be very usful to support plays lists, how ever we have a tempery work around. We setup 2 media servers, of which one streams from the other server so AW would appear to be playing a constant feed. Was a bit of a bummer since we had a complete ready to go TV station about 2 months back but we found AW didn't support all methods it could :) tengelJul 7, 2004, 2:13pm

No you dont get the point. Im not using stupid AVI files im using a proper
stream server. With Play list support. _AW_ doesn't support play lists <Quote from http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw36/media_command.html> The media command enables media player functionality within a scene for playback of local- and web-based media files, as well as broadcasted streams. Supported are all file formats, supported by your installed version of Windows Media Player, except play-lists. A list of supported media file formats, for a users running WMP9, is here, not supported are Windows Media metafiles (.asx, .wax, .wvx, .wmx, .wpl). Sign objects must be used to take the video frames of the media. The media command has many optional arguments: </Quote> Notice the _except play-lists_ |
