For young active worlds users with overprotective parents who want to view
their chat log to make sure they aren't doing something questionable. It
will be passworded so the young active worlds user can't edit the log file.

How... do you password a .txt file?

or get AW to store it in a zip w/ password thus saving some space at the
same time. AW should store all chat logs in files based on months. Chat logs
often get so long that you cannot load them X_X

Pfft, I just automaticly hate my parents watching me while I chat... they
dont know how to get into the C drive let alone c:\activeworlds!!!!

they have the key for to decrypt it. This key would obviously be based
on something like the citizen number.. maybe mixed in with immigration
time in seconds from the epoch. Then if a parent wants to get the key
they could call up AWI and get the code using some information like
their CC number they used to register it or whatnot.

Kids with overprotective parents tend to stay quite a bit ahead of them
in computer knowledge to be able to hide their tracks. The more
protective, the further ahead they stay.

Nothing can be secure as long as it's publically available. Besides,
Shamus isn't a cryptography specialist, anything he can do will be
amatuer at best.

What about having something where parents pay AW to log their children's
chat (i.e. cli>server) and then have a log emailed to them?

Too much work for AW :P

Just get AW To zip a chatlog of each day, not viewable by a password in the
client, like the AW Rating system with the password and etc.
