AW Menus // Wishlistcrazy pillsOct 8, 2003, 5:48pm
Ok dont hate me, but i got this sort of got this idea from "The sims" when
you click an object it should have a menu as a command Activate menu choice1="1" choice2="2" choice3="3" activate1 move 1 0 1 time=2 activate2 rotate 6 time=1 activate3 picture picture.jpg something like that i think itd be really neat then you could have like if i click a tv i can have like 10 channels on it and it chanegs it. itd be REALLY neat strike rapierOct 8, 2003, 8:10pm

i dotn want plugins i want a feature, plugins coudl cause ALOT of problems,
this feature i think would be pretty simple. and it also would be a great thing for games, and other things imagine clicking a lamp and having it pop up dim | | Turn off ___________Lamp________Turn On kinda thing wouldnt it be neat? [View Quote] bowen ten.sardna@newobOct 8, 2003, 9:24pm

So like, a menu you could program to do special options like "The Sims"
interface? That would be pretty nifty to have. Especially if you could create the theme of the menu (like for Medieval RPG's have like a wooden background and have it send some sort of SDK event too). ;) Would end the need for having text interfaces for shops and crap. :) -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com I know you want to join my army. johnOct 8, 2003, 9:30pm
Theoretically, plug-ins, specially browser-side, could be used for stealling
cit passwords etc.... if it was built into browser, no possibilities :-P ~John [View Quote] strike rapierOct 9, 2003, 3:23pm
Ermm... why bother... a DLL running client-side could steal your password in
microseconds... - Mark [View Quote] binarybudOct 9, 2003, 6:12pm
Not if your(as a developer) forced to "pre-register" your plug-in with AWI, before it will run with the browser.
It could be done securely....no problem. [View Quote] strike rapierOct 10, 2003, 4:00pm
No.... a decent DLL would be able to steal your pass in microseconds... It
dosent even have to access AW. - Mark [View Quote] rossyboy aNov 7, 2003, 10:29pm
Good idea, the only problem being that actually buliding it would take
up so much cell space. If it was actually implemented I would suggest not doing it by commands that take up cell space, but an actual "Menu Builder" interface, like in Visual Studio. But simpler, of course. Now lag victims might moan about it not taking up cell space, but if the menu was only downloaded once it was activated... (of course this would require an "activate menu" command, but that's all).
