Rights windows (Wishlist)
Rights windows // WishlisttalisanNov 6, 2002, 12:37am
I'm sure this has been asked for many times before. :)
I'm quickly running out of space to add more rights in a world I run. In about a week I won't be able to add more, but I can easily double the number of people I need to give rights to. Adding people daily. Does anyone have another solution until AW decides to extend this? --Talisan bowenNov 6, 2002, 12:40am
A webpage with some server backend that sends information to a bot to change world
rights. --Bowen-- [View Quote] grimbleNov 6, 2002, 9:40am
Isn't the issue with the size of the data field itself (rather than
specifically the input field)?? Rights management is usually implemented through permission lists rather than a finite length text fields for exactly this reason. Currently there is a very real limit to the number of people who can be given, say, build rights in a world because of this. Grims [View Quote] bowenNov 6, 2002, 2:06pm

Yeah, it is. It's just a semi-workable solution to have people sign in and sign out
when they're not using it. Maybe just an in world bot to do it instead? (but that would mean everyone has to have enter) --Bowen-- technozeusDec 2, 2002, 7:06am
A bot could give a console message saying Immigration Officer: Sorry, you are not allowed to enter "(world name)"... and then eject the person, or of they are welcome, the same bot could issue a welcome message.
