Currently AW only allows clicking the selected object, the infinitely-repeating ground object, and world background; and closing or pressing enter in the Object Properties box, as ways to deselect selected object. This is fine for most cases. However, worlds with modular ground, when many objects are around that cover the infinitely-repeating ground, and when the world background can't be seen, object deselection is more inconvienent. I already mentioned this to Roland months ago, of course, but nothing was ever implemented so I therefore submit it for inclusion as an official "wish": object deselection should be possible by left-clicking on ANY object inside the 3D pane.

Yep this has been an inconvenience for a very long time. Long before =
world servers the problem existed in enclosed areas or "forests" with a =
lot of facer objects. The left-click on any object solution makes =
sense... as long as that click doesn't trigger the "activate" command.
