AWUnivAB Contest Applications Open // CommunityelykJul 15, 2005, 12:58am
Hello everyone!!
Contest applications are now open for those who wish to apply for the Double-World Building Contest. Applications will be open from now until July 25th, when the contest begins. (no applications will be accepted after the 25th). The applications can be found at http://www.awcommunity.org/awu/awunivab/abapply.htm If you are planning to apply, please read over the application page carefully before filling out an email application form. This Summer's theme, once again, is "Castles." The plots in each world will all be 6x6 H Scale (walk001h.rwx) Once you have chosen a world that you want to have your entry in, you cannot change it, so be sure and choose wisely!! :) For more information about the contest in general, check out the webpage at http://www.awcommunity.org/awu/awunivab/ legionJul 15, 2005, 6:24pm
Well, I'm not participating in that contest since I have no interest in it.
However, will these contest be on display? I would love to check on contest to see how it is going. :D Sincerely, Events Checker [View Quote] elykJul 16, 2005, 3:08am
Yes, all builds within the AWTeen portion of the contest can be viewed
*after* the contest is over. However, entries that are within AWUnivAB world can be viewed at anytime. The reason for this is, since AWUnivAB is not a public world, all judges participating in the contest are not able to enter until judging day for AWUnivAB, in which then object selection and build are turned off and numbers are placed on each build for the judges to critique. This prevents any form of biased judging to take place and the contest is fair since the judges have no clue who the builders are and their judgements are strictly on the quality of the builds. Since this contest has a twist and AWTeen is involved, contestants are prohibited to give out coords to the site in AWTeen, because we cannot keep the judges from entering since it is a public build world. (probably more explanation that you wanted, but I figured the question would have arose sooner or later) :P [View Quote] ferruccioJul 16, 2005, 10:57pm
That's going to be interesting, trying to keep all of the contestants
from giving out coordinates :D especially since it's AWTeen, and someone's bound to stumble upon it when randomely exploring. [View Quote] elykJul 17, 2005, 12:09am
There will be a bot at each location. Judges will also state agreement
not to visit the AWTeen site if they happen to receive the coords accidentally. If a judge is spotted at the location, by the bot, before judging and before all object selection is turned off, that specific judge will not be allowed to participate since they might have already seen who made certain builds. Since this is in AWTeen as well, we are keeping rules extremely strict to keep the judging fair by all means possible in the long run. [View Quote] |
