How would you feel if AWI cut bits off of your subscription if you get
friends to subscribe? Wouldn't that encourage people to advertise more?

I agree.
Or some sort of rewards for getting others to subscribe.

Would be a good idea,
IE: Each citizen has a 'credit' section in there citizen options dialogue
for each person they invite (and get signed up).
For each citizen who registers and pays using your invite, you get $3 or $4
added to the credit section, and then if you decide to renew you get however
many credits you've got taken off the original price.

Sounds interesting

I liked the reward of knowing I could teach others (tourists) to build, back
when I could take them to the building yard in Alpha and get them plenty of
space, then they joined :-)

[View Quote] I think thats an excellent idea!! Would be nice to see AW give a little
recognition to those of us out there promoting their product, not too
mention the incentive it would create. And I might even wager there would be
a direct impact on citizenship sales as EVERYONE would be out promoting
sales to ensure a FREE renewal. AWI would of course have to incorporate a
strong anti-spam policy to deter folks from taking it to extremes as would
inevitably happen, something to the effect of losing your "points" if they
were to receive too many complaints.
