World Names // CommunityholisticApr 30, 2004, 10:48am
Hi folks. Just a little message for all to note that there are two worlds
with names that are very, very similar... En'Kara and Enkara... these are two different worlds and two different world owners... One would have to wonder why AW would allow this, but, I don't know anyone who can figure them out anyway... But there is a problem in this naming..... Any thoughts? .. This needs to be an open discussion.. Thanks, Holistic builderzApr 30, 2004, 1:46pm
One of the owners can call AWI, pay a fixed fee, and have their world
name changed. I don't think AWI has any special code that determines if two names are similar or not. If either of the world owners has a trademark on their world name, then AWI can legally shut down the other world with the similar name. If not, then the two owners will just have to work it our or let it be. Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] > Hi folks. Hi,
depends much on the idea and intention that the world owners had. I do not think that it is really a problem, I had choosen a name for my world too that had already been taken - Andras helped out and found a matching _very_ similar name for it that matched the idea (Labirint) and was still available. As long as the world names are limited to only a few characters, one sometimes has not so many choices. Same for citizen names btw., several people are confused about Andras and me but I think it is not really a problem, just funny sometimes *g It would be a problem though if someone copies or tries to copy the world contents, steals layout or models. Maybe the owners of the worlds in question could even crosslink their worlds and make them sister worlds :-) Just my 2 cents ... Volker [View Quote] holisticApr 30, 2004, 6:37pm

However, any number of worlds have matching themes... > > Maybe the owners of the worlds in question could even crosslink > their worlds and make them sister worlds :-) and Pigs will fly....LOL... that is not likely to happen.. But thank you for your input.. It is much appreciated. Terry > > > Just my 2 cents ... > > Volker > [View Quote] garnetApr 30, 2004, 6:47pm
When I decided to get a world for selling my objects, the name I wanted
(Garnet) was already being used! (much to my dismay) so, after thinking about it for a while, I just decided to name it Garnets. So sometimes you see a world Garnet and a world Garnets. I haven't noticed too many people who were confused by this, and even if they were .. the other world is just a click away :) So... personally I'm glad they allow similar names otherwise I would not have been able to use the name I wanted :) Garnet [View Quote] builderzMay 1, 2004, 4:29pm
I think there was a nice looking pig avatar at an event that OneSummer
helped to host in the past, but it didn't have wings. Maybe you could use Wings3D to add some wings. :) Builderz http://www.3dhost.net [View Quote] > Maybe someone could create a pig avatar with wings ... |
