The U.S.W.F. (United States World Federation) is looking for help from the
community.

The U.S.W.F. is an organization that was formed to provide free services to
the community of Active Worlds and also provide services to its members. Our
staff includes artists, builders, event and advertising committee,
journalists, programmers, and security. Each department is lead by a council
member, with staff under them. In addition to our staff and helping the
community, we also work with a bank bot network. The bank bot client allows
people to buy and sell items. We also have lots to sell and a bot that can
be used to uncover them and subtract money from that person's account. We
have been around for a while and aren't new. We are looking into being
sponsored by AWCom. We are in the staging process for that. During the past
few weeks, a few people have stepped down as head of their department and we
are looking for people who would be willing to help us out to replace them.
The current positions that need to be filled are:

1) Community Contact / Support (Someone to help answer questions that people
may have and to assist them in anyway(s) needed.)

2) Head Artist (Someone who is talented in object making, texture, and
graphic making.)

3) Head Builder (Someone who is a creative builder and can work well with
others.)

If you would like to find out more information about our job positions,
please visit our website at: http://www.uswf.net and click on the jobs
section.

If you would like to help us out, then please contact me at:
lord_fett at uswf.net

Thanks,
Lord Fett

Ok I've heard alot about the USWF and all but there is something that has
always bugged me, the name! The "United States World Federation"... it
makes no sense! I don't mean to offend at all but not only does it
contradict itself it also has nothing to do with anything in AW... will
someone please explain this?

Isn't it some sort of club of American world owners of the teen variety?
Seems fairly straight forward.

Blame Anduin Lothario for the name. I told him it was pretty stupid too
when he came up with it, but he went with it anyway.

The official name is "United States/World Federation" (note the / in
there). The "states" part refers to towns, and "world" to worlds. Add
that to the fact that "United" and "Federation" are pretty much
redundant (how many federations *aren't* united?!), and you can see it's
not exactly a straight-forward name.

Still, just because it says "United States" in there doesn't mean it's
just for Americans. Then again, that's part of the reason why the name
is so strange. :P

Yeah, we were thinking of a name change to something like AWUC. AW United
Communities This name would make more sense for the organization. What do
you all think on this name?

certainly not :-)) it's a town/world assosciation for everyone, intended to
make AW better (Goober King explained the name). The founder was Australian
BTW, nobody cares about your nationality in the USWF ;-))

KAH
PS. it's intended for communities with people all ages, not just some teen
thing...

IT wouldve made sense just to leave out the states part and call it
something like United Worlds and Towns Federation or whatever (i dont really
like the federation but whatever). But that name is good too :) What about
United AW Communities instead? kinda makes more sense but its your decision.

I had suggested to Anduin the name of "World Economy Network", since it
seemed that, at the time, his main thrust was the banking system. But I
guess you've moved away from that. So, AWUC works, but it's a shame that
AWC forces all its "affiliates" to slap "AW" to the front of their names. :(

Yes. Apparently when you participate in AWC's "Citizen Project" deal,
part of it is that you have to attach "AW" to the front of your name.
They say this is so that people will know you're partnered with AWC, but
I don't see why people need to know this. :P
