Ok, so of course a lot of people might not have as much money as they
usually do, due to the Sept 11th attacks. One thing ( and I know this because I work in the gaming industry) is that even in WWII Entertainment does not suffer, or suffer as much as other commodities during a time of recession, depression. Our company stock has barely been scathed by the Sept 11th attacks. Now AW may be thinking they can count in on this. Maybe they think more people will be seeking "an escape" That may be so, but with the way they have turned the pricing and subscription system around they better have some marketing in the next coming months to at least let a good population of people know about the software. As about 70-90% of the Users of AW either Stumbled upon it, were told about it by a friend, or maybe, and I say a biggg maybe, saw an article on it in a magazine. They need to do some marketing here. -- Chris Waddell dmonix at dmonix.net URL: www.dmonix.net wizard myrddinJan 5, 2002, 3:09pm
Some good points here I think
Coming from a marketing/ tech background it is surprising the lost opportunities that have been passed by, even free ones. In no way do I pass judgmenton aw and its marketing policy. But as your state nearly all come across AW by friend or falling across it. Evidence is there to support this in when aw recived a mention in the UK aw was flooded with people (I beleave over 700 where seen, total users in Universe) AW as I have always stated not USA it is a global membership, if AW cannot look beyond the USA market place it is dooomed. Its all out there for the taking, get writing good press releases, get the press in, get free mentions on TV. If you want to survive as we all want you have to look around and see the opportunities for marketing, see the competitors and as we all are aware produce a cost effective product that relects it membership.
