Announcing a 2 Week Trial of free voice communications in AW offered by
Telcopoint: Simply type http://host.activeworlds.com/aw3dlive/html/voip.htm
in your AW browser. This is not an Activeworlds technology, but does work
with Activeworlds.

Telcopoint purchased the technology from the bankrupt Hear Me company, and
is offering for a limited time FREE to Activeworlds user. Please use this
technology at the Activeworlds Universe Gate only.

Please let me know here http://www.activeworlds.com/community/suggest.asp if
this is a feature you would like to see integrated directly in the
Activeworlds browser, to chat with buddies on your contacts list.

Thank You, on behalf of TelcoPoint,

Josh Colton
Business Development Manager
Activeworlds Corp.

Heya's,

You may know this or not, but anyone may read this reply and learn anyway
:o)

Echo is cause by people not using their headphones whilst voice chatting. If
you use your normal speakers and talk while someone else is talking and
other sounds still coming through, the sound from the speakers will also go
through the microphone and cause an echo to everyone else. Every time it
echo's, the sound will also loose quality each time it loops through.

But yes, I like this feature, and I agree that it should be made an option
:o)

You may also want to try GCN at http://www.gcn.cx

For cable users and dial up users, the program is great for voice. Some
dial up users will experience good quality also, while others will probably
have a little static in the background or worse case cutting.

It also has:

Voice Conferencing - Video Cam - Chat Rooms - Email - File Transfer -
Games - Interface Editing - Internet Browsing - Message Boards - Profiles -
Save Favorite Sites - Language Translator - Jabber Messenger (AIM, Yahoo,
ICQ, and MSN)

I like the option, but there should be some sort of warning that tells
people to use headphones, or else a lot of people won't even know that
headphones will solve the problem :)
