The new v4.1 Browser

Jun 2, 2006, 3:07am
Will you all do me a favor please? If you find a bug in the new v4.1
browser, can you please send a balanced and fair representation of the bug
to support at activeworlds.com ? Pretty please? Instead of bashing AW into the
ground in the NG's?

Strike! Damn it, you are one of the worst abusers! Need I remind you of your
LIST? Instead of simply sending AW a list of your complaints, you decided to
air your list to the public. Instead of being a beta tester, you decided to
trash the very being of your potential livelihood. No wonder you were kicked
out of beta. No.. I have no idea what I am talking about. Bash me please.
Kick me as I lie dead in your tracks.... I am but a soul in the journey that
is the AW universe. We have begged and pleaded and pressured AWI into
releasing this browser for so long(including you! DENY it!) that now we feel
we have the priveledge to bring it down to its knees because we do not like
it. We created the results, but we deny the responsibilty for them.

Help a new mac baby

May 31, 2006, 4:10am
I was under the impression that since Macs went INTEL, that emulation of the
OS had been... ahem... solved satisfactorily. Are we saying this is not the
case? Again, I was under the impression that all new Macs under the Intel
guise also came with built in Windows emulator... I am now guessing that I
was duped? I am... at this time... grateful for my distrust... as in I have
always wanted a Mac except for... its certain limitations... which... well,
I had been led to believe had been solved. :)

Problems with 4.1

I doubt any other 4.1 worlds have yet to use the features of the new
server/browser.So, even if they did, probably not worth the time to
download.

Problems with 4.1

Goto www.microsoft.com and do a search for gdiplus.dll and it will give you
a page to download the .net dll files, install it, and all your worries...
at least .dll worries should be done with.

Gifs not masking correctly

I was so hoping this problem would have been fixed with the new browser. I
have never seen this problem in any other 3d world(sl, there, or any game)
so I know it can be solved.

Although I do feel much sympathy for your reply, for the last two days
Martin
has been asking us to PLEASE send our bug reports to
support at activeworlds.com ! I know this is a very difficult time... and we
all demand an immediate sollution... but if we can all just cooperate a
little while... and communicate our problems in peaceful and productive
way... well, we might actually get some results. That's all I am trying to
say.

Aside from that, I thing everything I have seen in AWGate has been pretty
cool... a lot of fun... and yes, there have been a few issues... but
personally I voiced my concerns to support at activeworlds.com and was replied
to today, informing me that they would be relayed to the programmers.

I am satisfied that AWI is concerned over the comments that I made, and I
will hope for a resolution in due time as they can figure out a solution.
