Realistic grass using 3ds max as the base..

Jul 2, 2006, 1:50am
Ok what I'm trying to say here is, I found a tutorial for making
semi-realistic grass with 3ds max.. Instead of having grass models, I think
this would be a great thing to add to world features, and be able to turn
off from the terrain dialogue when you select a cell of terrain. It would be
great yo be able to adjust the height, thickness, gravity, wind direction,
and clumpiness. OR you could add all that into the terrain dialogue as well,
so you could change each different cell to your liking, and maybe a cool
idea would be to be able to select more than one terrain cell at a

How about bones instead of joints?

Jul 2, 2006, 1:56am
It would be great for the avatars to use the bone system and get rid of the
joints, then we'd all be able to have really good looking avatars. It would
make it alot easier on the av makers who have to add joints to each of their
base models, and ALSO adding joints in accutrans. From what I understand,
bones aren't that hard to work with, and maybe someone could make a tool
just for... bones (the last word that hit my mind sounded too dirty)

waypoint limits?

Jul 2, 2006, 6:49am
I haven't been able to code a nice ship ride with waypoints because the
waypoints have limits as to how far you can go.... It's not realistic to
put a dock with a ship in the middle of the ocean, and have the people get
off the ship and get on the one in the middle of the ocean... and also that
automatic add on bump thing is annoying....
