I think Spacekdet meant my sig, which I feel rolls off the tongue a little easier than the E B White quote

Poor Splinters, that'll teach ya to stick to 'woopee cushions' and fart gas next year:) I thought it was rather implausible, but the timing was a bit ironic with Naes talking about upgrading. No real harm done though.

Happy Fools Day Everybody!

Thanks Keith, as per all my posts here-I never mean any harm-just try to help and have a bit of fun. Although with hindsight and vodka free eyes, I can see that it was a bit close to the bone.

Whoopee cushions and fart gas it is next year then. Must stop using them in the classroom though....;)

Isn't it funny how humour is not always funny! It's a bit like beauty - it's in the eye of the beholder.

So these two fonts walk into a bar and the barkeeper says "Oi you. Clear off. We don't want your type in here!"

Happy April Fools Day (even though for me it was yesterday as NZ is in the earliest of all time zones, 12 hours ahead of Britain and Greenwich Mean Time)

I think you have just given caligari and idea. Turespace 5 really needs not to be free but rather priced low, and I mean low to get people tempted to purchase the later versions of the software and stick through to version 7 and beyond.

April fools or not, it is a great idea that needs looking at.

Behzad, TS4.3 was free in 3D World some time ago. They often give a version away to promote latest release. Ironically, they did this for TS7 with the 4.3 giveaway. Having said that, I guess it is only a matter of time; they have given each previous version away in a 3D mag..:)

TheWickedWitchOfTheWeb I love your hat, you look like a merry chicken

Thanks... I think!

I made the hats for the birds for Christmas for a laugh! You can see more hats here if you're interested:

Unfortunately the original 'Birds' image never made the gallery (shame cos it's one of my fave's!). I might get round to posting it in the forums for everyone to see one day.

Whilst I don't share Behzads avatar fixation I do like WWotW's chicken - it reminds me of one of my all-time favourite characters - Feathers McGee, the evil penguin from the Wallace and Gromit show "The Wrong Trousers".

So c'mon WWotW - let's see your original birds image (love the xmas one BTW)

You're wish is my command oh Wizardly one!

Posted it in the Finished Artwork section (cos it's old and I'm not doing anymore to it!)

PS, it's Feathers McGraw, not McGee! :-)

Thanks for posting it - I'll go and check it out right away.

Thanks also for correcting me about Feathers' name - these damned penguins all look the same to me ;)

Of course it helps having a working PC to post such jolly messages from...

also, hard to think up suitable April fool jokes when your life (PC based of course) just turned into one...

I think your little joke has 'got' quite a few people, judging by the views of this thread. Well done. :p

Hello Wabbits, have you noticed I have been quiet too.

Well the reason being, I do not have ts7

I also been inactive in the 3d part of the fence, attending to running a business now doing graphic design. But hope to get some more 3d done soon. Although it might be with another software.

I am every pleased to see great work done with ts.

Well it's not free but now trueSpace 5 is only 49.95 plus training videos! A really cheap way to get into 3D for Christmas. Plus as a special bonus you get to talk to me for FREE!!! (... at the "call the Steinie Hotline" I get $20 an hour!)
This is a bargain.

I must take advantage of that Steinie hotline myself! :)

Glad you like the offer, we too think it is a very affordable way to get into 3D. I've bought games that cost more, and I can tell you that 3D will keep you occupied and entertained for a lot longer than any game (if not in fact land you employment as it did me!).

We continue to believe in both pushing the boundaries of state of the art tools with our latest versions of trueSpace, but also in providing a sensibly priced entry point for those folks who want to get into 3D but don't have a ton of cash to spare, and the offers and specials we do aim to reflect meeting both those aims!

So, good to hear that the offer seems to be thought to be a good idea, just as we thought it was!

Thanks!

Tom

Truespace 5 is a very powerfull tool.. and i think about 50$ is a very very good price for a very stable modeling and rendering plataform..

Pluse there's a huge amout of free plugins to boost your work..

Now i can say if you are playing with a demo or truespace 3 is because you like, not coz you can't pay an original license.. :)

Great promo Caligari

Sheesh Tom! That's got to be a good candidate for "Understatement Of the Century".

tS 5 is a GREAT piece of software, complete enough for serious and complex work yet still reletively easy to get to grips with for the noob. I have nothing but fond memories for it. I always particularly liked the byline on the box - "Reality Designer" - how existential is that?!!
