Do you have a link to any existing documents? I think you sent them to me once (or was that Délé) but I seem to have misplaced the link. |

I've attached a ZIP of the Help folder. Extract it to wherever you have the Motion Studio TSX file installed. |

Ah ... some day we'll all meet somewhere at a tS loyalist convention somewhere and I'll buy the first round whether I owe one or not!

Ha ha!
Well, reckon I'd have to have an iced tea* or something. :) Never had a beer in my life.
*iced tea = sweet tea ... the not-hot kind. I have nothing against the hot kind, though (to all you guys across the pond) but iced tea is the only kind we drink in the south. ;) |

Sorry for the ancient bump but a lil help here, I just took a close look at your "mostu_biped_fella_01.cob" file Frank. How did you connect 2 bones to 1 joint? |

By default MoStu keeps adding new bones to the last active joint, but simply click on the joint you want to add a bone to and click New under the Bone tab.
That should do the trick. You can add as many bones as you want to a single joint. |

Then how do I create a closed loop with bones, cuz I noticed in your rig, the hand was a looped set of bones. |

Ahhhhh...
To do that, select one joint, click the Connect button, (under the Joint tab), and then click the joint you want to connect it to, which effectively adds a bone between those two joints. |

Right got it. Now in your opinion which is better for a hand:
- the closed loop in your model?
- this (http://img155.imageshack.us/my.php?image=19414230iq2.jpg)? |

No problem. I'm glad to know it was helpful! Thanks!

I didn't put much thought into the hand rig, but I do like the method you posted. It seems to me like that is the way to go because of the flexibility it gives the thumb. Nice! Thanks for sharing that! |

((TIP: Disable Auto Drill-Down Select in MoStu, select the skeleton, save it as a COB object, make a new scene, bring the COB file in, rename it, and save it. Now go back into the scene you were working on and load the COB file.))
Glad I was able to help. But the method u mentioned earlier to create a mirrored hand isn't working. I have a new skeleton but I can't get it to flip right, much less remain that way. At this rate it seems simpler to make a new skeleton while using the "flipped" copy as a base. Amirite? |

I just did a quick visual tutorial to show my workflow for this. Let me know if you have any questions.
How To Duplicate Skeletons in Motion Studio |

NOTES:
- On step #7, it is helpful to toggle Grid Mode and then rotate the object, to ensure an exact 180 degree flip.
- Keep in mind the rotation only works if Auto Drill-Down is disabled and the entire skeleton is selected - which can be done by clicking the object name ( ie. Hand_L ) from the item list in MoStu.
- After the steps are done, it's a good idea to re-enable Auto Drill-Down Select. |

Good tutorial Frank :)
My Copy/Paste plugin (http://emmanuel.asset.free.fr/tsxarchive/index.htm) can be tricky here, because you don't have to save to file and reload the object ; just left clic and right clic the icon to get a new copy from disk! |

Thanks!
Hey, I just downloaded the Copy/Paste tSx. This is something I can use, because I'm always saving objects out and bringing them into other scenes, or using the object library, etc, in situations where this plugin would be much more efficient. Thank you! |

I just finished the skeleton and moved on to rigging. And wow. I thought the worst was behind me, now it may seem that my skeleton is wrong to begin with. Ah well, I'll just keep at it and post if I have real issues. |

Keep in mind that with MotionStudio, you can adjust the skeleton (including adding bones) even after a skin is attached. |

Well after a good hiatus of cocking about, I'm back at it. 2 questions (with illustrations).
1. In the triangle of yellow circles, how do I combine the 2 bottom joints (circles) into the top?
2. How do I rename "mosBone"?

#1: Select the first joint, click Joint -> Connect, and click the second joint.
#2: To rename, select the object in the list and press F2.
Let me know if I misunderstood the first question. |

Yea frank it was misunderstood. I want to merge 2 joints to become 1 single joint.
Also 3rd question:
How do I "rotate" a bone, so that I can for example turn a head left or right? |
