Correction: I was looking in WM Items Folder which has 6 files.

This is what I have:

C:\trueSpace7\tS\RS Libraries\UI Items\Mouse Items: 1 Object

C:\trueSpace7\tS\RS Libraries\UI Items\Widgets Package Items: 91 Objects

C:\trueSpace7\tS\RS Libraries\UI Items\WM Items: 6 Objects

That's the same as what I have, aside from the folder you're missing.

Now this is really weird I did a search for a couple of the files that you mentioned and the results were ZERO. EG: AdvNav widget.rsitem,

Arrow.rsitem

What the heck is going on?

Actually, this is a result of 2 things happening:

1. Caligari made a bit of a flub of 7.01 & left out that folder

2. Some silly person uninstalled before installing the updated version! :D :D

If you reinstall the download v., followed by the CD v., that will solve the prob.

I have confirmed that I have 3279 files in 242 folders.

Yup, that's what's on everybody's CD [AFAIK].

By the way I have learned so many Window tricks from you in the past few months! Thanks.

LOL, not a problem. Kinda makes me feel a bit less guilty about putting off the stuff I should be doing in tS7 [& preparatory work in PSP].

LOL, don't worry, we all have days like that. :D Remember, it's not all your fault, if Caligari hadn't made their mistake it wouldn't have been an issue.

I'd say a general rule of thumb for the issue of uninstalling older versions of software before installing newer 1s is only do it if:

a) The people who make it tell you to, or b) your exisiting install is severely flubbed due to a crash, virus, etc.

This is very strange. Widgets library should be in CD install...

True. :) That's why companies let people beta test their stuff, as there'll always be someone who'll try to do something with it that the Devs wouldn't have done & thus discover probs they might not have noticed.

Probably missed by Beta testers as they are usually instructed to uninstall previous version first.....

Yeah, that's what I did during Beta, prior to release of 7.0, but I wasn't privvy to the changes made in 7.01, not that it would have made a difference anyway, as widgets are still way over my head [so I wouldn't have been looking at them].

Splinters..it's only because I was playing with Clintonman's custom widget..

tried to put the default one back..no go..library had them listed[worked in d/l version]..looked in ts directory only to find the folder empty..

anyway only someone with the cd could test it..the beta tester would need to have been at caligari

even now when replacing a custom widget back with default I lose edit mode in player..right click all you want but you won't get into edit....put custom widget back and edit mode is a right click away..only thing you can do is delete default.ctx..glad I keep a spare now to replace it ..to recover my layout without too much fuss right down to the last icon..:D

you could restore widgets by deleting whole Widgets encapsulator & restarting tS. Widgets should re-initialize themself.

Unfortunately, I cannot login with my current working version to default shared space - we have done some significant speed & stability improvements that required changes in networking code... and I haven't 7.01 installed.

thanks..Tomas that worked great..I think it was because the custom widgets were posted as RsObj not RsCmp..working with my own I have no problem.. they are saved to widget library as RsCmp....:D
