Why dont start to show websites modeled on ISPACE?? thats be great to see new web developments..
Me as a webdesigner too, i love to see webdesigns using 3d technics and flash.. This is your oportunity to show to the whole comunity what you can do with ISPACE..

Got iSpace from a while back. Only limitation that keeps me from using it more is storage space on my ISP. I'm already maxxed out with various items and such. With high speed internet being what it is, graphics intensive web pages are becoming more and more possible. |

To be honest I stopped using it a few years ago as I was on Dial up at the time and I could never get anything I made uploaded...:)
If I have time (well I should as I am retired) I will reinstall it and have a wee looksee as I have broadband now and Lots of webspace. :D
MY own personaly opinion and I repeat its just MY opinion, is that Ispace was released ahead of its time, at least here in Scotland and the UK in general. Very few people had Broadband and a fair percentage of the population are still using dial up, though the numbers are dwindling.
If ever there was a time for a revamp of Ispace its now or at least in the very near future, online content has become much more sophisticated and graphics heavy, so maybe Ispace 2 using the new core of TS 7 may have a chnace to shine.
I beta tested Ispace and had a fun time doing it, but as I said above, it was a wee bit a head of the curve and the bandwidth was just not there to use it to its maximum potential.

I think I'm going to buy this program, they have a really good deal running on it right now. Have you guys been using it long?

OK, this probably falls short of what you are wanting, but it is a start.
I used iSpace to construct the family's website. After which my youngest daughter (aged 8 at the time) showed her hamster to friends at school. It was clear when further questions were asked of her Dad that the shear scale of the internet was beyond her grasp..
"Daddy, you mean that anybody, in the whole world can look at our pictures"
"Yes, Deborah, as long as they have the website address"
She went white and was totally gutted...and a promise was extracted from Dad about keeping the website address secret.
So its static images only. I used the basic presets with a little customisation.
The pages follow in sequence..

I really like the tower painting.
Ever considered recreating the scene in 3D?
The black text overlapping the frame on the left is a little difficult to read, but otherwise it looks fine. |

Actually, spacekdet, I have a number of old fantasy painting projects, some even drawn out which I have often wondered about transposing into 3D. The big inhibition (and this applies to the tower painting as well) is vegetation. I don't think I could do vegetation natively in trueSpace in any kind of convincing way that didn't take a hugh amount of modeling (trees and flowers especially -we do have a grass method now!)
Of course the obvious thing is to use Vue or even Bryce for the vegetation. I have the most recent Bryce (courtesy of Daz) and a very old version of vue (3). So maybe I'll look into it. However, modeling the tower would be fun. I have inherited an interest in buildings from my Dad who was an architect. I wish I had had more time to show him what trueSpace could do, unfortunately he passed away just over a year ago. His office was one of the first in the UK to get a architectural computer, but he passed on learning it himself and delegated it to younger computer literate colleagues and remained deliberately distant from computers until the end of his life. Now architecture is hardly done without computers....
