Here is a script that will allow you to use the LUUV plug in version 1.1.4 from Workspace.
Instructions:
1.) Make sure that LUUV 1.1.4 plug in is loaded in Model.
In Model select the "Install New trueSpace eXtension" icon, looks like a electrical receptacle.
From this dialog navigate to your trueSpace7.6 installation folders, double click the tsx folder, luuv folder, select the luuv.tsx file, and select Open.
2.) In Workspace from the Stack/Settings/Desktop - Set the Bridge to ON.
3.) In the Link Editor load the LUUV for Workspace script select the LUUV for Workspace's Import/Export button to Import a Wavefront.OBJ file.
4.) To Export your Selected Object, hold your keyboard Alt key down and select the LUUV for Workspace's Import/Export button.
You can select the LUUV plug in's Export Options prior to Exporting by selecting the Options button.

For real? Excellent trueblue!

I've had problem saving using LUUV form the modelside - it always crashes tS. Will this save and load with LUUV and not crash me?

Lot of good stuff coming out the garage lately. Thanks people - you're made of gold! :D

Are you serious?!!! Nope not April 1st...

Amazing. For this a Caligari t-shirt is being mailed to you slightly used and needs a washing...:)

Ahhh the good old days.

When I first found this command I had LUUV 1.1.5 installed and it crashed trueSpace7.6 when I tried to Export. Seems to work so far with LUUV 1.1.4 though which is the one supplied with the trueSpace7.6 installation. Understand that this script uses a trueSpace command that opens Model's INSTALLED plugin and in this case LUUV 1.1.4 only.

Wow, that is pretty cool True. Now the only thing I need to figure out is how to get Indigo renderer to work in the WS side and do animations... You do realize you and a few of the other guys have completely killed whatever little chance we had of seeing a TS8 :D

Nice job, I have a couple of things to try it out on right now.

Maaaaaaaaaaaan Trueblue you are the One! this is AWESOME!

Now that I feel confortable to use an extern uv mapping program, anybody know if Blender can save an .obj file that we can import with this script and the LUUV plugin?

Im studying Blender and the UV mapping looks cool.

Hey True, did you get this to work with 7.61B5? I do not have TS7.6 loaded on this computer, the other system is down right now...

Thanks

It worked for me when I switched it to ON Kena, thanks for the hint :)

I just saved out a model I have been working on all day, it does not save the model on your screen. You need to flatten history or you get the base model you had before starting to model.

Cool tool though.

Just curious, does this make it easier to import large obj files?

What do you consider large? I just did a couple that were 50K and less. I don't know if I have anything larger than that readily available right now.

Something like 800000 vertices will allow the view to move well in workspace but slowly in modelspace. File size 44megs

Clinton

This model was from zbrush which can easily export large obj files

Thanks everybody and I am glad it is working for you. With all do respect the Caligari developers deserve all the credit. I just stumbled on the commands when looking for something else. So feed the Developers so Bananas in appreciation!

I need some help with this. When I click Import nothing happens. Likewise, Alt-Export.

Perhaps there is a problem with my installation? I did the standard install but I have never been able to find LUUV in my tS folders and do not know how to open it from the Model side.

TIA

That is 99% LUUV 1.1.5

tS 7.6 comes with LUUV 1.1.4. It is made for 1.1.4. And crashes at 1.1.5.

Make sure you mention freezing the stack before they try to save if they are modeling. That was the only gottcha I found.

Bummer... can you try the exact same senario from Model with the LUUV version 1.1.4 plug in the normal way (without this script) and see if that works for you? Been really busy but I will try adding some Bridge commands to see if this helps.

Doesn't work from that side either - can't say I ever noticed before as its not something I normally want to do. It does work if I just use the old standalone version of tS 6.6.
