I picked this because it is unusual, I had my photos for reference, and I thought it wouldn't take long. That was important since I should be doing things that earn money and feed me. I also thought it presented a variety of texturing and modeling challenges. I didn't think anything worth noting except that during the design phase I decided to sort of not design it. For composition I didn't have a specific image in my mind or any meaning or symbolism. I mostly went with whatever happened. The pillar was a requirement though. Otherwise, I decided to use tools in combinations to add detail in an automated way. After the initial semi-finished image, I thought that I really shouldn't spend any more time on things that don't feed me. For a while anyway.
