I thin that graphics card would be good enough for my needs, and I will put a

That's basically it. I already have a nice fancy new 650w enermax infiniti

PSU, and a new 120 GB drive just for the OS. I don't want to upgrade

the raid array drives to SATA II just yet, but eventually I will.


Does that sound all right?

The video card you have listed is a DX9 card. You'd probably be better off getting a DX10 card for that price:

 Well, I was thinking about that , but it is only 128-bit. So which is better,

DDR4, or having 256-bit?


I'm not planning to go Vista yet, so I'm not so concerned about DX-10.

I'd go for the better GPU over the faster memory bus. A pentium with crappy ram is still gonna be faster than a 486 with the best ram. ;)


Of course you could go for a 512bit bus....

I'm an nVidia guy myself and if you're sticking with XP then the nVidia cards are much faster for the price. But ATi has better Vista drivers right now, so even though they are slower cards hardware wise, they currently out perform nVidia in Vista.
